This can be either a file or the NOSCREEN option. The software assumes anything but NOSCREEN is a filename, and will not run if the file does not exsist. If the file does exsist, it will be executed as a TBC-II default script, and the TBC-II software will quit after execution is complete. To run in the startup-sequence>> Toaster:TBC-II S:TBC.Defaults The NOSCREEN option allows you to run the TBC-II software without a user interface. It will execute S:TBC.Defaults and then run in the background waiting for ARexx commands. The ARexx commands TOFRONT, TOPROCAMP, and TOBALANCE will open the user interface. If you don't have ARexx you can run TBC-II again to open the user interface and select QUIT. Default file was changed to "S:TBC.Defaults" and consists of a commands which are processed by the ARexx command handler. The file contains all of the VTR, ProcAmp 1-10, and Analyzer settings. Any of the ARexx commands can be put in the file, but the save will only save the VTR, ProcAmp, and Analyzer settings. Buttons: The ProcAmp momory buttons have a small indicator which hilites when they are holding a set that is non-unity. When you store a completely unity set, the indicator will unhilite. The UNDO button works somewhat like the PREVIOUS button. It will undo the last change. The next time(s) it will toggle between the two. The COMPOSITE button toggles bwtween Composite and S-Video. The FREEZE button works like the Toaster. In the down state the video is frozen. Up it's live. Analyzer: Wavform, Vector, Overlay, and Split are mutually excluded. (these also turns beam exciter freeze off and back to normal) Flat/Low Pass toggles between the two. 1H/2H rotates. Superimpose toggles on/off. Normal/Peak Hold/Variable rotates. Freeze toggles on/off. The prop gadget below is the update rate. KEY INPUT: The key input button toggles like freeze. This steals the cursor keys from all other tasks. Press the key input button, press the caps lock key on the keyboard (turn on caps lock) Now the up & down cursor keys will rotate thru the buttons on the far left. This selects what the left & right will modify. The left & right cursor keys will move the chosen slide bar left & right. The cursor keys will control the color balance if the balance screen is open. Holding the SHIFT key also will increment/decrement by 5 units. Slide bars: Arrows will have a standard delay before repeat. Slide bars work the same as arrows if hit outside the body, but without repeats. (inc/dec by 1 unit per click) String gadgets: All of value strings are now string gadgets, including to two on the balance screen. Click on the text, and a cursor should appear. Type in a new value, and hit return. The screen will flash you have more than 5 characters, which means you need to backspace over the old value. When you hit return, the value will change to the real value after calculating the scaling and limits. The "+" is not needed, but "-" is. Color Balance: Grid spacing was changed to match 10.0% offsets. (?) Holding mouse button down outside of the cross hair will cause it to follow the mouse in slow repeats. Holding mouse button down on the cross hair will cause it to stay under the mouse pointer. (like in the old software) LOAD & SAVE: These will load & save the current settings & proc amp memories. The file requester starts out showing the S: directory, and has "TBC.Defaults" in the filename gagdet. The operations are pretty much standard. double-clicking on a file will load or save. Pattern matching is done by appending a pattern to the end of the directory after a : or / like "DF0:TBC.*". Shift+RETURN will move the cursor to the directory string gadget. SWITCHER: Pops the switcher screen to front and put a parasitic gadget on it. Click the parasite to go back to the tbc screen. WORKBENCH: Pop workbench to front. The top of the screen has a drag bar & front/back gadgets but the are invisable.
