Welcome to JRC Turbo - the finest terminal program for the Amiga.

   JR-Comm 1.02a was modified by the author of ShrikeBench (the most powerful
DOS-Shell environment available), to give you "JR-Comm 1.02a Turbo".
   JRC Turbo (as it's called) has been installed with a large array of new
features:

         ¤  A faster, official Commodore serial.device
         ¤  A faster EpsonQ printer driver
         ¤  Fastest US Robotics HST settings available. Compiled from a
             variety of sources, and guaranteed to be the fastest anywhere.
         ¤  All the proper internal defaults to give maximum throughput,
             including the best palette, terminal, modem, general, and
             serial selections
         ¤  Imploded executable files
         ¤  Powerpacked Doc files, available in the Docs directory
         ¤  Installation of FastFonts
         ¤  Full ShrikeBench-style DOS Shell activated, with many powerful
             commands instantly available in RAM:
         ¤  Downloads to RAM: for maximum speed
         ¤  RunBack's JR-Comm, and boosts task priorities on all relevant
             tasks
         ¤  Disk is optimized for greatest disk-access speed
         ¤  Registration delay-screens removed
         ¤  Adjusts modem to speed-dial phone numbers
         ¤  Executable script files included:
                "X" automatically transfers all files from RAM:Downloads
                    to DF0:. Just run it!
                "NK" automatically turns off the drive clicking (you get
                    slightly faster throughput of the disk is removed
                    from the drive when downloading). Just run it!
         ¤  Turbo feature included on disk to disable video, increasing
             system speed
         ¤  "AreaCode" program in main directory; instantly reports
             geographic locations of inputted area codes
         ¤  Several popular archiving programs included in the C directory,
             including DMS, Zoo, Pkax, Lharc and Warp.
         ¤  Virus-Checker v5.19 in C directory, and VirusExpert in main.
         ¤  Customized boot-block that installs FastMemFirst and disables
             Audio filter on boot-up


 JRC Turbo occupies about 605k total of system memory. Watch your available
memory carefully, lest your machine crash and you lose all your downloads.

 Warning: Do not execute the "nk" script more than once, or your machine
will crash!

 The "SetClock" command in the startup-sequence has been disabled. There is
a bug (?) in JR-Comm, in that it wants to write to the date comment of
all the ".def" files before loading the program. In other words, it wants
the write-protect off, which is not a good idea.
 If you don't mind having the write-protect off, then enable SetClock.
 If you do mind, then keep everything the same. JRC Turbo will want to write
to the date comment ONCE (in order to set it to the system defualt time),
but never again.

 JRC Turbo works well in a multi-tasking environment. Its priority has been
set to 10, so it will probably take preference over anything else you have
running in the background.

 Also note: When downloading at under 9600 baud, turn "OverDrive" OFF. It
only helps at speeds 9600 baud and above.

 The "Turbo" program on this disk may or may not speed up high-speed
transfers. Experiment!

 To set your modem to the fastest configuration: Once the terminal has fully
loaded, just press <CTRL><F1>. That's it! This macro will save the fastest
settings into your HST's NRAM. These settings are configured for an HST V.42
14.4K Single-Standard. If you have a different modem or a Dual-Standard, you
might wish to double check these settings to make sure they will work with
your modem (although they should work fine).

 Another note: The config macro sets the S11 register to 32. This speeds up
the dial-process. However, if your phone line is of less-than-average
quality, it might be too fast for the line to handle - try higher numbers.

 Oh yeah! For those of you unwilling to part with your original version of
JR-Comm (sigh) or worse yet, AZComm, a little note on speed: When the
connection is average (ie, not a bad connection), the average download speed
for this baby is CONSISTENTLY 1650 bps. On good days, I have often watched
it hit 1850 bps! Match THAT... and we aren't talking about text files here,
either, for you lameasses who figure you can get 225050505 bps on a text
file. I'm talking about your standard big-file raw-code download.
