THE PERFECT GENERAL Technical Supplement for the Amiga Computer GENERAL This card contains start-up and other machine specific instructions for the Amiga computers. The "Scenario_1" disk has an ASCII file named 'ReadMe`. This contains the latest notes on the game. You can read the file by typing the command "type ReadMe" from CLI or selecting the ReadMe icon from Workbench. PACKAGE CONTENTS The Perfect General should contain a manual, this technical supplement, two 3 1/2" disks, a registration card and 6 full color maps (two sided). REQUIRED EQUIPMENT COMPUTER: The game requires an Amiga 500, 1000, 2000, 2500 or 3000. The machine should have at least 1024K of RAM. CONTROLS: The game can be run entirely from the keyboard, with a joystick or a mouse. When two players are playing, each may use a separate control (i.e. the mouse and the joystick). The contents of PG_1 will be transferred to your hard drive. When prompted, insert PG_0 in any drive. 7. The contents of PG_0 will be transfered to your hard drive. When the screen reads "Installation Complete" you should be set to play. To play The Perfect General from a hard drive: 1. Remove any of The Perfect General diskettes, if they are inserted. 2. Boot your hard drive normally and go to the WorkBench. 3. Double-click on the hard drive's icon. 4. Double-click on the icon with the name you gave it in step 5 above. 5. Double-click on the icon named "Perfect_General". The game should start. RUNNING THE PERFECT GENERAL NOTE: The Perfect General requires a stack size of 40000. If you are starting the program through workbench, you do not need to worry about the stack size as the icon will take care of it. However, if you are starting the program through CLI you will have had to already set the stack to at least 40000. This may be done by executing the command 'stack 40000`. Also, if your Amiga has only 512K of CHIP memory, you will probably want to make sure that you close down all unneeded Windows on your Workbench screen. FROM FLOPPIES: Insert Game Play Disk #1 in your computers disk drive. If running from workbench, just open the disk and select the Perfect_General icon. To run from CLI, change to that drive (for example, by typing "cd df0:", and then execute the command "Perfect_General". The game will then start up. The game will prompt you when you need to change floppies. FROM THE HARD DRIVE: From workbench, just select the Perfect_General icon. From CLI, change to the directory in which you installed The Perfect General. Then type the command "Perfect_General". The game will then start up. CONFIGURING FOR YOUR MACHINE To change the hardware configuration, select the 'Change Hardware Configuration` from the primary menu. That's it for now - ENJOY!
