OBJ.dox v1.0 [NOI] GENERAL INFO: All the enemies, stones, diamonds, walls etc. are in the file OBJ. You can adjust them the easiest with the program SimpleBOB. The problem with SimpleBOB is that only 512 bobs can be handled at the same time. That's why we cut OBJ in 2 pieces. Depending on what you want to adjust you have to use one of the MAKEBOB programs. The second thing you have to think of is that the player (Rockford) has a different color set then the other bobs. Further more, the colors of his brother (player 2) are rearranged from the Rockford (player 1) colors. So be careful when you want to edit Rockford (or hos brother)! MAKE BOB PROGRAMS: a) MAKEBOB1 creates a file with the first 512 bobs with normal colors. b) MAKEBOB2 creates a file with the first 512 bobs with rockford colors. c) MAKEBOB3 creates a file with the last bobs with normal colors. d) MAKEBOB4 creates a file with the last bobs with rockford colors. SIMPLEBOB: When SimpleBOB starts choose CANCEL and then LOAD. Load the file bob/bobby Now you can adjust whatever you want and when you stop editing you save your work under the same name. (bob/bobby). MAKE OBJ PROGRAMS: a) MAKEOBJ1 creates a new OBJ file after the first 512 bobs are adjusted. b) MAKEOBJ2 creates a new OBJ file after the last bobs are adjusted. If you used MAKEBOB1 or MAKEBOB2 then after adjusting you use MAKEOBJ1. If you used MAKEBOB3 or MAKEBOB4 then after adjusting you use MAKEOBJ2. EXAMPLE: Say you want to adjust the DIRT. Then do as follows: 1) MAKEBOB1 You see a lot of messages, but don't bother about them. 2) SIMPLEBOB Load the file bob/bobby Set the BOB pointer to zero and then go through all the 512 bobs. Whenever you see a DIRT bob you can adjust it. Save the file bob/bobby 3) MAKEOBJ1 Again a lot of messages, but don't bother. 4) MAKEBOB3 You also want to check the last 16 bobs! 5) SIMPLEBOB Set the BOB pointer to zero and then check/adjust bob 0 to 15. DON'T BOTHER ABOUT BOB 16 AND HIGHER, THEY ARE JUST FILLING! 6) MAKEOBJ2 Forget the messages. 7) EMERALD MINE. You have to start the game and see what your creation looks like. If you don't like it, start again with step 1 or step 4. WARNING: Always follow step 1,2 and 3 OR step 4,5 and 6. In step 1 and step 4 files will be created in RAM: If you stop with step 2 or step 5 (because you have to eat or something) and you turn off your computer, then step 3 or step 6 will not be able to create the obj file! So if you have to eat (it's human) then first do step 3 or step 6 and then turn of your computer. The next time you must start with step 1 or 4, but your work will be saved!
