				INSTALLATION

Boot Your Computer

Before you can install WordPerfect, you need standard Workbench 1.2 and
Kickstart 1.2 diskettes.

Two Drives
1	Turn on the computer

If the screen displays the Kickstart diskette,

2	Insert the Kickstart diskette into drive 0

When the screen displays the Workbench diskette,

3	Replace the Kickstart diskette in drive 0 with the WP diskette.

HARD DISK

We assume that your hard disk is formatted and that the necessary AmigaDos
files have been copied onto the hard disk. The startup-sequence containing
the appropriate assignments and path modifications should be created or
edited so you can run WordPerfect from different directories.

CREATE A WP SUBDIRECTORY

To begin installing WordPerfect on a hard disk, create a WP subdirectory.

From the CLI enter MAKEDIR [VOLUME NAME OF HARD DISK]:WP to create a WP
subdirectory on the hard disk.

Copy ALL the files from the WP diskette into the subdirectory WP on the
harddisk.
Copy WP:empty.info dh0:WP.info to give the WP subdirectory an icon.

Copy all of the PRINT and SPELL/THESAURUS files into the WP subdirectory on
the hard drive.

If you would like to do so you may make a subdirectory in your WP directory
called LEARN and copy all of the files from the LEARN diskette into this
subdirectory. This is not necessary for running WordPerfect as this diskette
only contains text files for learning how to use WordPerfect.

ASSIGN WORDPERFECT

In your startup-sequence you need to type these necessary assignment
statements.

ASSIGN WP: DH0:WP
ASSIGN T: DH0:T
ASSIGN PRINT: DH0:WP

If you want to use the LEARN files on your hard disk you need to assign
LEARN: DH0:WP/LEARN

SET-UP MENU

The Set-up menu is assessed from the CLI and helps you set up WordPerfect to
fit your needs. From a CLI prompt:

1	Enter WP -s After a few moments, the Set-up menu appears. Be sure to
press the Space Bar before typing -s. When you finish using the
        Set-up menu,
2	Select Accept Changes (7) to accept any changes you have made and
enter WordPerfect, or select Cancel Set-up (0) to ignore any changes
        and enter WordPerfect.

These should pretty much get you up and running. If you want to know more
about using WordPerfect you can purchase a book on it at most bookstores.
Be sure that you get a book that is on WordPerfect V.4.2.
