*********************************************************************** * * * UNITED FORCES FINAL ANTIVIRUS KICKSTART 1.3 RELEASE NOVEMBER '90 * * * * DOCUMENTATION & CODE BY RIFF RAFF * * * *********************************************************************** Whats new: - Not much, but this Kick now detects the TRAVELLING JACK & CENTURIONS Linkviruses (read more below). - Unfortunately the DiskCopy got removed. No space, you know. - The Kicktag-Pointer Check recognizes ALF-2 and RAD:, so no KICKTAG- POINTER CHANGED Alert, if these residents are detected. - The 1MB-Chipmem bug in the reset-routine is fixed (If you have 1MB Chipmem, than the reset-routine detects it, but just a few millisecs later it checks for more than 512k Chipmem and if so, it performs a coldstart (clears all Chipmem, rebuilds execbase etc.). This is fixed! Note: - THE TRAVELLING JACK also infects your PRINTER.DEVICE!!! I don't know why, but my Kickstart doesn't detect infected printer.devices (don't they are LoadSeg()'d?), so check the file-length (should be 26964 when using Workbench 1.3). Look at your DEVS: Directory for a file called VIRUS.xx which contains a stupid text. - The Kickstart Intro is not updated (the source is gone...), so don't bother about old texts, just use it to patch your UFO-Kick for PAL- CLI-Windows and Memory-Configs. - The file UFOKICK.DMP is crunched with DIMP (Disk Imploder), to make a real Kickstart disk in DF0:, type 'DIMP WRITE UFOKICK.DMP DF0:'. - If you have an A1000 with a 768KB Front-RAM-Expansion than patch your Kickstart as usual. Then load DiskWik and patch it as follows: Load Block 1 and change the longword at x:8, y:13 (00200000) into 00080000. Write back the block and use SUM KICK in the menues to fix the Kickstart's checksum. I didn't include this in the Intro coz' the source is gone, as I said before. Hint: This Kickstart doesn't inform you about the name of the infected file, but you can detect an infection with the POWERPACKER! Use 'Hunk Lab/Process File' and watch the Hunk information-list which appears. If the first hunk (Hunk Nr.0) has a length of 2048 (or around) or 3900 Bytes, than it is surely infected with The Travelling Jack or Centurions. The best way is to delete the file and watch out for a clean one. VIRUS CHECK ======================================================================= The following 52 Bootblock Viruses will get detected: SCA & Clones (LSD,AEK,DAG,ICE,BS1) - WARHAWK - REVENGE - SENDARIAN - OLD & NEW NORTH STAR - GADAFFI - DASA / BYTE WARRIOR - MICRO SYSTEMS - BYTE BANDIT 1-3 - LAMER EXTERMINATOR 1-4 - TIME BOMB - ASS PROTECTOR - OBELISK - DISK DOKTOR's - PENTAGON CIRCLE - 16 BIT CREW - BLACK FLASH - DISK HERPES - GRAFFITI - JOSHUA - VKILL - ULTRA FOX - CLAAS ABRAHAM - HCS - PHANTASMUMBLE - TURK - REVENGE BOOTLOADER - GYROS - SCARFACE - BYTE WARRIOR FASTLOADER - PARAMOUNT - 'CLIST' - BUTONIC's - JULIE- L.A.D.S - ALIEN NEW BEAT - AUSTRALIAN PARASITE - TARGET - EXTREME - FUCK OFF (I don't know the name, uses ColdCapture) - F.A.S.T. This Kick checks each Bootblock for Virus-infection before it executes. If a Virus is detected, an Alert will flash up. POINTER CHECK ======================================================================= Cool/WarmCapture & KickTag Pointer will be checked after the Bootblock did it's work. An Alert displays any change of one of these vectors. You can clear the vector or continue if there's a RAM Disk or another reset-resistant Program you want to keep it memory after a reset. When this Alert appears and you press CLEAR, the vectors ARE clear but a Virus is still active! So KILL and reset to ensure to slay the Virus. If you DON'T have a resident program in your memory, like TurboPrint or RAD: or an Antivirus-Bootblock and this Alert appears, always clear the the vector, reset and check the Bootblock of the inserted disk for a non-known Virus! LINKVIRUS CHECK ======================================================================= I included the SYSTEM-Z Linkvirus Check in this release. Now a Linkvirus is detected just when the infected file will get executed. An Alert informes you of an infected program. You can skip the Virus (make it harmless) or continue if you want to infect your files... This release detects the IRQ-TEAM, TTV-1 (GSG9) REVENGE OF LAMER EXT., THE TRAVELLING JACK and CENTURIONS Linkviruses. IRQ-TEAM, TTV-1, R.O.L.E. & CENTURIONS-infected files will abort when they were loaded. THE TRAVELLING JACK-infected files are still runable, the virus is made harmless. But you should better consult your Virus- Killer (await ENDLESS SLAUGHTER, the ultimate Viruskiller). Thanx to PvL for the routine! FUNCTION KEYS ======================================================================= These functions are available when the INSERT BOOT DISK-Logo appears on your screen. You can select multiple functions. F1-F3: Kill single external drives DF1-DF3, F4: Kill all. F5: Show ASCII-Dump of the next disk's Bootblock. F6: Switch off FastMem. This function is reset-resistant and works with internal A1000 1-4 MB Boards, A500/2000 internal 1MB Boards and other non-autoconfigs. Has no effect on Golems etc. F7: FastMem on again. Also cleans your Amiga's RAM from anything! F10: Simple NoFastMem. Allocates all Fast-Memory. DC.B 0 ADDITIONAL FEATURES ======================================================================= BOOTSKIP: Press right Mousebutton while booting, and the Bootblock won't get executed. Screencolor turns lilac. Viruscheck still works. POINTERKILL: When you press the left Mousebutton during reset, all pointers (Cold/Cool/WarmCapture & KickTag) will be cleared. Screencolor turns green. Helpfull when you get stuck in a reset. You can get No-Pointerkill-Kicks for compatibility to some 020 boards and some HD-Autoboot modules. KICKRESET: Just press DEL when the Logo appears... PAL CHECK: The non-working PAL Check is corrected. NEW FONT: The annoying Topaz-80 is replaced by Drelbs-80. GERMAN KEYMAP:No 'setmap d' anymore... Of course you can order US-Maps. 1MB CHIP-BUG: No CHIPMem clearing after every reset (Hi Commodore! Don't you know what you do??). NOTE ======================================================================= If you find any bug or a Virus, which our Kickstart doesn't detect, please contact us immediately! You'll get the newest version of this great Kickstart in return. Special thanx go to SYSTEM-Z and P.VAN LEUVEN for their help with coding the logo and their great Virus-Collection. Keep fighting on the Virus-Front! Bye... RIFF RAFF.
