GENERAL INFORMATION Introduction Enchanted Realms was not born from a desire to create a financially successful publication (though we certainly hope it becomes one), but out of a love for the adventuring experience. Adventure gaming is exciting! We hope we can share some of that excitement with you. We also believe adventuring is a great family activity and that it should be a wholesome experience for everyone. Therefore, we have established criteria concerning the material included in Enchanted Realms. Basically, we have the right to refuse for publication any material of questionable content. This is our conviction and we hope you will respect us for it. Thanks! Operation Enchanted Realms requires Workbench 1.2 or greater and is Workbench 2.0 and Amiga 3000 compatible. However, even though Enchanted Realms works on all Amigas and under the 2.0 operating system, not all of the programs included on disk have the same level of compatibility. Those limited to 512K RAM will be able to access and use all programs on disk, but will not have access to the full Dungeon Interface. The interface for Enchanted Realms is quite simple. Click ONCE on buttons to access the features of the program. The Dungeon Interface has only four buttons. SLEEP puts the program to sleep on Workbench. PARCHMENTS takes you here. VISIONS escorts you on a visual tour of screenshots of commercial adventures reviewed in the Journal. (These are available only as space permits. Each screenshot is displayed for 30 seconds, then automatically advances to the next image. Or, you can click the left mouse button to advance to the next image immediately.) And, Depart (Need I say more?). To bypass the music and introductory credits, click the left mouse button immediately after you select the 1MB+ option and the screen turns black (you have about three seconds). To simplify the interface, we have removed all menu options and made the interface completely button accessed. Contents Purchasing Enchanted Realms does not constitute purchasing the rights to shareware when it appears on disk. The authors retain full rights to their work and should be justly compensated for such. If you find the program enjoyable and use it, please send the requested fee to the author. By doing so, the whole Amiga community benefits and the author is encouraged to continue writing additional programs. To the best of our knowledge, all freely distributable materials on this disk have been identified by their authors as such or have been obtained from recognized sources of freely distributable software. Miscellaneous Each issue of the Enchanted Realms' disk is filled as close to its capacity as possible. However, we will not simply "stuff" a disk just to fill it. Only quality material is included on disk. We also use data compression whenever possible, allowing us to free up some additional space so that we can include that much more on disk. In addition, each disk is processed with a disk optimizer to ensure the fastest possible access to each program and to reduce disk thrashing. Enchanted Realms can be run from a hard disk, but you will need to copy the Data and Text directories, as well as Realms and Realms.info to your hard disk and put the proper assign in your startup-sequence (assign "Enchanted Realms:" ). Disclaimer Although many hours have been invested producing and testing this program, some bugs may still be nesting in the dark recesses of Enchanted Realms.
