@NODE WSTEP "Introduction"
	@{b}FG24@{ub} enables to capture colour TV images in PAL system
into Amiga computers. It has 512kB of dynamic memory and
captures colour images from video or camera in real-time 
(it doesn't need a freezed still frame).
Software supports AGA chipset and new @{"graphics modes" LINK TRYBY} -
HAM8, 256 colours etc.

        HAM6 (@{i}Hold And Modify@{ui}) is a special mode that allows you
to produce up to 4096 colours on the screen at the same time.
It is possible because the value in the colour output circuitry is held,
and one of the three components of the colour (red, green, blue) is
modified for each pixels. In this mode there is 16 basic colours in palette.

        HAM8 (@{i}Hold And Modify@{ui}) is a special mode that allows you
to produce up to 262144 colours on the screen at the same time.
It is possible because the value in the colour output circuitry is held,
and one of the three components of the colour (red, green, blue) is
modified for each pixels. In this mode there is 64 basic colours in palette.

Use "Installer" to install software on your hard disk
or floppy disk. The software needs "fg.font" in directory 
"FONTS:". If it's not installed, the program attempts to open 
this font from volume"FG24:".

@{b}@{i}Control panel@{ui}@{ub} - 
on the left side are sliders: @{b}brightnes@{ub}, @{b}contrast@{ub}
and @{b}saturation@{ub}. They influance image only during decoding.

   In the middle is situated a preview window. You can click it
or click button @{b}Preview@{ub}. To end preview mode click
and release left mouse button. A captured image is shown
in the window.
   You can show it on screen clicking @{b}Load@{ub} (a moire
effect is correct and it disappears after decoding image).
In an interlaced mode wait time can be sometimes slightly 
longer as the software attempts to check and (if needed)
swap frames (it sometimes gives no result - but very rarely).     
If there is no FAST RAM the screen will blank during loading
data into buffer (in this case the preview window can be
a bit disturbed due to stopping the program by custom chips). 
   Now you can @{b}Decode@{ub} data. A suitable palette will be
computed.
 @{b}Palette@{ub} computes new palette, but only after having
decoded video signal. It's useful when number of colours
was changed but not the resolution of the 24bit buffer 
(in HIRES and SUPER HIRES modes the resolution of
the 24bit buffer is the same - like in HIRES ).

 @{b}Menu@{ub} shows main screen.
   

 Gadgets on the bottom of the control panel :

The first one @{b}Filter@{ub} serves to choose kind of filter:
Laplacian
Gaussian
Blur
Bas relief
Diagonal
Horizontal
Vertical
North
North East
East
South East
South
South West
West
North West
Wood cut
Sharpen 1
Sharpen 2
Sharpen 3

   Field @{b}F:@{ub} - determines power of a filter (in percents).
   
   Next button, when it is checked, executes a filter between
   decoding data and computing palette (used only at decoding).
   
 @{b}Execute@{ub} - executes choosen filter.

@NODE ANIM "Animation"
@{b}Animation@{ub} - this panel enables to control recording
and playing frame sequences. There are two possible modes of work:
black & white - 320 pixels for 128 lines, max 256 greyscales,
colour - current screen (not interlaced modes).
@{b}Delay@{ub} - specified
in 1/50 of second (a time of displaying one frame) time which should elapse after pressing
@{b}Record@{ub} button to start recording of frames.
@{b}Number of frames@{ub} - max number of frames (it is limited by free memory).
@{b}Interleave@{ub} - coming frames will be stored in memory 
                      every <Interleave> frame beginning with
                      frame number given in field @{b}S:@{ub}
                      ( e.g. Interleave = 2, S:1 ==> frames will be
                      stored at following locations :
                      1, 3, 5, 7 etc. ).           
                      

New window opens in place of filters window ( you can also acces
filters by clicking @{b}Filters@{ub} button on the control panel ).

From left to right : 
- current frame/max frames  e.g. 1/5.
- @{b}Record@{ub} start recording.
- @{b}Repeat@{ub} playing animation in a loop.
- @{b}Play@{ub} playing animation once.
- @{b}Stop@{ub} stop playing.
- @{b}Rewind@{ub} previous frame.
- @{b}Forward@{ub} next frame.
- S:1 start frame (playing, recording).
- N:5 number of frames to recording.

After pressing right mouse button we can use @{b}Frame@{ub} menu.
- @{b}Cut@{ub} delete current frame and insert for its position next one
  (for last position clear frame is inserted).
- @{b}Copy from buffer@{ub} store current frame in buffer.
- @{b}Insert@{ub} copy for current position frame from buffer with relocating
  following frames (last frame is lost).
- @{b}Cut & Copy to buffer@{ub} delete current frame, insert for its position next one
  (for last position clear frame is inserting) and store it in buffer.
- @{b}Copy from buffer@{ub} copy for current position frame from buffer. Displayed frame
  is destroyed.

If you wont to show image without control panel, press <SPACE> key
( it works like right mouse button in non animation mode ).

@{b}End animation mode@{ub} -  free memory allocated for frames
   and switch to normal mode.

Enabled only on AGA machines( A1200, A4000 ) in best available
mode. Determines method of computing palette - 24bit palette 
in AGA mode (except HAM6), 12bit palette in ECS mode.

   A new screen will be opened. If there is not enough memory,
buttons @{b}Load@{ub}, @{b}Decode@{ub} and @{b}Palette@{ub} will
be disabled. Enter screen mode preferences and choose another

- 512 kB dynamic RAM for two frames:
  resolution 736 pixels for 512 lines.
- input signal: composite PAL TV signal 1Vp-p/75ohm. 
- external connectors: 25 pin D-type connector for computer 
  connection, RCA connector for video connection.
- power source: external power supply 9V DC 0.6A.

@NODE POMOC "Additional information"
   An effect of moire is correct and disappears after decoding
video signal and computing palette.
   If there would be bright places after @{b}Decode@{ub},
without visibles details, you should reduce contrast, 
saturation and next click @{b}Decode@{ub} one more time.
