This provides ASDG with additional leverage in enforcing legal action against unauthorized duplication or distribution of ADPro. Be aware that ASDG considers prosecution of copyright infringers part of its obligation of providing a quality product and service to its paying customers. =========================================================================== Determining the Version Numbers Of Your Drivers To help our Technical Support staff better serve you, please obtain the version numbers of your HP_SCAN Loader module and HP_SCAN_ToDisk program before calling for support. Follow the steps below to do so. For Kickstart/Workbench 1.3 users, load the Loader module into a text viewer and search for the string: $VER: and record the text displayed after the $VER: string. Do this for the ToDisk program if you have neither ADPro nor MorphPlus. For Kickstart/Workbench 2.0 (or later) users who have ADPro or MorphPlus, you can type the following commands from a Shell: cd version Loaders2/HP_SCAN full For users who don't have either of these programs, type the following: cd version HP_SCAN_ToDisk full =========================================================================== Enhanced AGA Preview Screen If you are running the scanner software on an AGA-equipped machine, you will have the benefit of seeing your preview screen in 256 shades of gray. Note that on a 256 shade grayscale screen the scan box and its handles might not show up as clearly--some parts of the box might "disappear" into the image. This is normal and will be addressed in a future version. =========================================================================== Some Notes Regarding Scanner Querying Due to the way the scanner driver works, you will notice lags in operation in the Preview Scan screen when sizing and moving the scan box if the Fine Scan's Zoom slider is set to a value other than 100. This lag is a result of the software having to query the scanner for the most up-to-date scan dimensions, so that the Width (Px) and Height (Px) values are accurate. This lag does not happen if Zoom is set to 100. To avoid this lag, first be sure that Zoom is set to 100, resize and reposition the scan box, then set Zoom to the desired value immediately before doing the scan. =========================================================================== Last-Minute Features, Changes, and Clarifications The Filter control in the Fine Scan panel is better described as a control for removing artifacts in the scan, not necessarily the type of smoothing that will be performed when the image is scaled down. ===========================================================================
