Use at your own risk and only on BACKUP copys of REEL2. I am, however, glad to help you work out any problems and am willing to fix bugs. It involves creating a text file which contains the data for each week of the season and executing this program. It will automatically write the new schedule to your "REEL2" disk. Only a few steps are involved-- 1. Create the text file. Each week of the schedule should begin with the number for the week it represents followed by a carriage return. For example, the first week would have a line with the number "1" and a carriage return. Underneath the number, you should place one line for each of the fourteen games to be played on the particular week in question. Simply type the visiting team followed by a dash followed by the home team. BE CAREFUL THAT THE NAMES ARE SPELLED CORRECTLY AND THAT THERE ARE NO EXTRA SPACES INVOLVED OR THE PROGRAM WON'T WORK. If you have renamed the home citys for any of the teams, you should type in the new name, not the old one. You do not have to type correct cases. Examples: Phoenix-philadelphia schedules PHOENIX at PHILADELPHIA san DIego-anaheim schedules SAN DIEGO at ANAHEIM Each week should contain exactly fourteen games and there should be a total of exactly sixteen weeks in the schedule. 2. Save the text file with the name "schedule". 3. Place the text file in the same directory as TVCompiler. 4. Prepare a fresh disk with a copy of REEL2. DO NOT use the orignal disk. 5. Alter the TEAMS on REEL2 to be consistent with the names, players, and abilitys you wish to have for your season. 6. Run the Compiler. If any errors exist in your text file, the compiler will notify you of them. 7. Enjoy the season! Included in this arc file is an example season. (Well, actually it is the first two games of the 1987 season repeated eight times- I didn't feel like typing in all sixteen weeks at this hour of the morning.) If you have any questions about how a text file should look, it should help answer them. Let me know how the compiler works! And by all means- if you put together a season of the past (or the 1989 schedule once it comes out) then upload it! Its free to you and lots of other users would appreciate it. PS- If you are interested in contributing to a user-created team file based on the 1988 season, read the file FOOTBALL.ARC. You could really make a contribution a lot of people would appreciate by helping to design your favorite NFL team! SUPPLEX IN 1990
