Alien Drug Lords:The Chyropian Connection Amiga Version 1.0 Read Me File This file contains last minute advise and information that could not be included in the player manual. 1. The game is now self-booting. Simply, turn your machine on; place disk ADL1 into drive 0; double click on the disk icon and then double click on the game icon. 2. HD_Install. To install the game onto your hard disk, boot off your hard disk; insert disk ADL1; double click the disk icon; double click the HD_Install icon and follow the prompts. The install program will ask you to specify a path name for the directory into which the game files from all four disks will be copied. Don't worry if you haven't already created the directory, as the install program will create one for you if it is not already in existence. If for any reason HD_Install does not work, open the CLI; create an ADL directory on your hard disk; type "assign ADL: ADL",(where 'ADL' is your directory path name);and add this to your Startup-Sequence. Then for each ADL disk type "copy ADLn:#? ADL/ all" (where n = the ADL floppy disk number). 3. Memory. If your machine does not have enough memory or if its memory is too fragmented a warning dialog will appear. If running from floppies, simply re-boot your machine from disk ADL1 - the Workbench on this disk runs with minimum disk buffers and no RAM disk to ensure maximum available memory. If running from a hard disk, turn off all other background tasks - re-boot if necessary from the floppy disk ADL1 and launch the game from your usual ADL directory. 4. The File menu now contains an Open command. Click on this menu item to open a previously saved game. A dialog will appear requesting that you enter the path name of the desired saved game file. Do so and select OK. The previously saved game will now automatically load. 5. Save Game. When you select Save Game or Save As from the file menu, a dialog will appear requesting you enter the path name for the saved game file. The default is ADL5:ADLS1 (ie. a file called ADLS1 on a floppy disk/volume called ADL5). You of course can change this to whatever you prefer. However, as you cannot format disks or create directories from within the game, do so before launching ADL. 6. Xeno Dossier. Special agent study the data very carefully. 7. Secret Map of Chyropia. Last minute report from special agent Terrakki indicates that a mercenary outfit going under the name of Panther Games are selling a secret map of Chyropia for the unbelievably low price of $5, which includes interstellar postage. What's more you can pay with your galactic Visa or Mastercard. However, this is available only to registered users - send your registration card in today.
