      This  week  I  had the pleasure of going to a local computer show.  I
      heard about it a week before it was due to be staged, so I held on to
      my  money.   I  had  £45  to spend on Amiga CDROM discs, cos I wanted
      Aminet 11 and 12, I also wanted a Module compilation CDROM.  The show
      date  came  and  I  paid  my  £1.50  to  get in.  Wow!  The place was
      massive!  The first stall I saw said `Amiga'.  A good sign I thought.
      So,  I  walked up to the stall and had a look, there were hundreds of
      new & popular games piled up, then I looked down a bit and found that
      all  of the games were for the IBM PC.  I checked all along the store
      and  no, there were no Amiga games.  Oh well I thought, I'm not arsed
      anyway, cos I didn't really come for games.  I later found that there
      were  a  few  CDROM  discs  full  of  fonts  and  clipart  which were
      compatible  with the Amiga.  That was the Amiga bit of that stall!  I
      walked  right  round  the  show  and found only one other stall which
      mentioned  the Amiga.  I had a look round and found a wooden box full
      of  Amiga  P.D  disks,  well,  they  were all the same actually, just
      bundles  of fonts and clipart.  There was nothing else to do with the
      Amiga  there.   After  spending  a  further  45 minutes walking round
      looking  for  anything  remotely  Amiga,  I  gave up and labelled the
      place,  The  P.C  Show,  although the sign at the front said "For all
      Formats".  What format's that?  Fuckin' any format that's P.C, that's
      what.   Prices  at  the show, I thought, were awful.  £395 for an old
      dinky  VGA monitor, a 386 CPU and 2Meg Ram, no hard disk.  Yes, I did
      say 3-9-5 pounds!!!  Anyone who buys that has `MUG'* written all over
      them.   So  that was that.  Needless to say, I came home empty handed
      and  £1.50  worse  off.  My point on the matter is this.  If you find
      yourself at a show full of P.C shite, keep hold of your money and buy
      your  software/equipment  from  a  dedicated  Amiga P.D library or an
      Amiga  mail  order place.  At least you know your cash will be buying
      you  pure  Amiga  stuff, whilst also helping to keep the Amiga market
      going.   As a result of this show, I'll be buying my CD's from one of
      many  Amiga  mail  order  companies,  I wish I could  name them,  but
      seeing  as  how this mag ends up in many libraries I don't want to go
      shouting  my   mouth  off supporting  their  competitors.  So, NO!  I       won't mention V12 or 17Bit, so bog off right now.
