>2GRAPEVINE - THE NEVERENDING STORYeby zYLAX / PTK >1 I seem to have this defect with my TV set at the moment. There's a black bar PERMANENTLY across the top of the screen. Shit, I've tried everything to get it off - Mr Sheen, Pledge... even the Flash stuff that twat on Telly advertises. I dunno if this is important or not but I can just makeeout the words on the bar - CygnusEd Professional V3.5!!!! Curious, eh? °oO°Oo°oO°Oo°oO°Oo°oO°Oo° >3(help!! There's a snakeecrawling across the screen-Ed.) >1 Before I begin writing this article please let it be known that I am assuming that Grapevine is no longer ine development. No doubt someone won't hesitate to let me know to the contrary, if I'm wrong though! The popular opinion at the moment is that Grapevine has ceased to exist. The problem is that everyone is still claiming that it is STILL the best diskmage out there. The thing is though, is if Grapevine has indeed died then shouldn't we be saying that Grapevine WAS the best diskmag. The reason for me thinking this way is becauseeI'm sick of seeing everyone's charts of their favourite mags with Grapevine stuck at the top. It's so predictable! I mean the god damn magegot to the top of the pile and then died. The only problem was that rigormortis set in pretty damn quick and we can't shift the fucking thing now! Isn't it time somebody PLANTED the motherfucker finally! Don't get me wrong, Grapevine was, and still is, my favourite disk-based editorial. But shouldn't we really be concentrating our opinions on magazines that are still ACTIVE when compiling up to date charts and the like. I mean, to many people the old 8-bit video games are the best around but we would generally list new games if we were to makeea list of our current favourites. I dunno, maybe I feel likeethis cozeI'm a disk mageeditor myself and Grapevine is one hell of an obstacle to overtake. Honestly, it's like having King Kong's first dump of the day dolloped in front of ya (© Red Dwarf!)... or summats likeethat! My final thought on the matter is that Grapevine should be left to join the realm of Amiga Classics. MAY IT REST IN PEACE! °Oo°oO°Oo°oO°Oo°oO°Oo°oO° I can imagine that I've started an absolute shitload of trouble here now. It's likee going into a church and saying that Jesus was created by extra-terrestrial visitors to this world (THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE! ...we just don't know where the fuck it's gotten to!). It's not the done thing. Well, if you disagree with me (or perhaps you thinkeI'm right), don't whinge to yourself. Turn your opinions into an article for Amiga Frontier! >2 And the Ed's top ten magazines this month are as follows:- 1. GrapeVine 2. Erm, Grapevine 3. Grapevine 4. The Beano 5. Grapevine 6. " " 7.
