>1 A.F QUESTIONAIRE ---------------- Please be honest, informative and interesting. After all no one wants to sift through a pile of horseshit :- PERSONAL DETAILS ---------------- >3 FOR THE RECORD PLEASE STATE YOUR NAME AND OCCUPATION My name`s Mark Seddon. Also known as M.S.C. of Amiga Frontier. I haven`t really got an occupation `cause I`m still at school, although I do work in a shop on Saturdays. This is so I earn a bit of dough so I can spend it again on Saturday night. TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR SELF I`m sixteen years old, and doing my G.C.S.E`s at school. I`ll be doing the actual exams in about 4 weeks, so I`m basically shitting myself. I like football, and I support LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB. I like going out and getting very very pissed every Saturday night, and I`m also quite partial to a game of Command and Conquer on the ( shock horror ) P.C. DO YOU HAVE ANY PERSONAL SKILLS AND HOW DO YOU USE THEM IN THE COMPUTING FIELD ? I have no personal skills at all.....apart from being a rather sarcastic bastard who is good at writing insulting articles. I use this skill in a magazine called Amiga Frontier, but of course you know this, `cause you`re reading it. ARE YOU SEXUALLY ACTIVE AND DOES THIS INTERFERE WITH YOUR COMPUTING LIFE, IF NOT WOULD IT ? Sex?.......what`s sex? I`m a good Catholic boy me. AT WHAT AGE DID YOU FIRST COME INTO CONTACT WITH A COMPUTER AND WHAT DID YOU THINK OF IT ? I first came into contact with a computer at the age of 5. It was a Spectrum 48K, and I`ll never forget the feeling of elation I felt when I finally got a game to load by not breathing for 5 minutes on end when the cassette was whirring. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE 'PC REVOLUTION' ? What P.C. revolution? It`s nothing the Amiga couldn`t do with a bit of backing. Personally, I think it`s all been hyped up a tiny bit too much. The P.C. is an amazing machine.....but only if you`ve got a Pentium 133MHz processor and 16 Megs of RAM ( or better... ). Even then you`ve got to fuck about with the config.sys file to get a large enough chunk of conventional memory to get any games to work. DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET, IF NOT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ? No. ( to both questions ) I haven`t the time, money, or interest. THE AMIGA PD SCENE ------------------ HAVE YOU CONTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY TO THE AMIGA PUBLIC DOMAIN SCENE, IF YOU HAVE WHAT ? No. I`m a lazy bastard. WHAT IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF YOUR PD SOFTWARE Converse. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PIECES OF PD/SHAREWARE SOFTWARE AND HAVE THEY INSPIRED YOU IN ANYWAY ? Galaga `95 AGA. It`s not inspired me in any way, `cause I`m crap at coding, and couldn`t even hope to get anywhere close to that sort of standard. DO YOU OWN A CD-ROM DRIVE AND IF SO WHAT ARE IT'S MAIN USES No. Converse has got one, so I just use his. WHILE THE COMMODORE TAKE OVER WAS STILL UNRESOLVED IT WAS SAID THAT ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS THAT THE AMIGA SURVIVED WAS DOWN TO THE DEDICATION OF THE PD AND SHAREWARE CODERS. IF THIS IS TRUE WHAT DO THINK WOULD HAPPEN TO THE AMIGA IF WE DISAPPEARED OVERNIGHT ? I can`t really answer this one, `cause I haven`t been into the P.D. scene for that long. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF 'REAL MAG' PD REVIEWERS AND ARE YOUR FEELINGS JUSTIFYED I`ve only had a bad review off one WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF LICENCEWARE AND HAVE YOU EVER PURCHASED A PIECE OF LICENCEWARE ? I think Licenseware is a really good idea. Mainly `cause we got DMC Gold from F1 Licenseware, but it`s altogether a great idea. Mostly commercial standard software for about four quid. Classic. WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL FINALLY KILL OFF THE AMIGA PD SCENE (IF ANYTHING) ? Nothing save a nuclear warhead will kill off the Amiga P.D. Scene. This is mostly due to an in-built bloody-minded program that refuses to believe that the Amiga can die off. IF YOU HAD THE TALENTS TO CODE/WRITE/DRAW ANYTHING YOU WANTED WHAT WOULD IT BE ? What d`you mean IF I had the talent? Anyway.....I`d program a Windoze beater for the P.C. ( Not really hard, but...why not? ). I`d then sell this for about 15 quid, thereby underselling Microsoft by around 50 pounds. I`d then sell my story to the tabloid press and retire to Hawaii aged 20. ARE YOU WORKING ON ANYTHING AT THE MOMENT ? Issue 8 of A.F. Passing my exams. Getting a life.(let's not get too carried away-Ed.)
