      A  few  weeks  ago I received Beyond Sanit-E 3 from the PTK mob and I
      must  say  that  I  was impressed.  Before I start the review, I must
      tell you guys that BSE 3's mini coded intro (by Slade?) crashes every
      so  often  with my 030 and fast RAM.  O.K, there's all of your faults
      out of the way, on with the review....  >3 As usual with Sanit-E, the
      first  thing  that  struck me with BSE was the high quality art-work,
      some  excellent  logos  at the start of the mag, I liked the Powertek
      logo  with  the  multi  coloured  semi cricle next to it, good stuff.
      Your  choice  of  music  this time was very gud, much better than the
      last  one,  there  seemed  to  be  a  style  of  music module to suit
      everybody's  likes,  i.e  a  pretty fast one as mod 1, a weird bleepy
      thing  for mod 2 and a great slowy flute & piano mod 3.  I really did
      like  module  3,  it  was  great.   Anywayz  (?!)  Onto  the articles
      themselves.  I found many of them a great read, including one by some
      guy  called  Converse,  his  were  absolutely  brilliant!   Erm,  the
      interview  with Effigy software was a nice idea, but I don't think it
      turned  out  to  be  what  you  expected,  maybe  your proposed Geoff
      Crammond  interview  will  work  out better.  The other articles vary
      tremendously,  for  example  there are several 'Amiga only' articles,
      plus  many Playstation reviews, P.C reviews etc.  It's nice to have a
      bit  of  platform  variation  at  times I must admit.  Other articles
      include  computer  programming  tips,  news,  science fiction related
      stuff,  i.e  Star Trek Babylon 5 etc.  Although I watch many of these
      programmes  on  T.V,  I'm  not  really fanatical enough to read about
      these  programmes,  although I know many people who are interested in
      this kinda stuff, so no doubt this section will prove quite popular.

      >4The  Graphics  >1 What really sets BSE apart from other mags is the
      fact  that  it is set out so damn brilliantly!  You would struggle to
      tell that BSE was made using DMC.  There's plenty of pics by Gobliin,
      Slade  &  ASCII  art by Zylaxative.  The ASCII art makes Sanit-E look
      more  professional  and  it  makes  BSE more pleasing than just plain
      text.   This is something that us here at A.F have been meaning to do
      for  ages,  but  coz  we're  monthly, other things have priority over
      ASCII  art.   I would heartily recommend Beyond Sanit_E to anyone who

      I  have  always  felt  Beyond  Sanit-E to be a magazine that picks up
      where  Frontier  left  off.  For example, A.F has no artist, BSE has.
      A.F  has  a  great musician, BSE does not.  A.F is funny, erm, BSE is
      somewhere  in  between  funny  & informative, i.e it's not 100% techy
      boring  stuff  and  it's not 100% silly all the way through.  I think
      Beyond  Sanit-E  has  come a long way in a short space of time and it
      has  a near perfect mix of articles, which you will find entertaining
      and  informative.  I read the review of Amiga Frontier and I have one
      gripe.   Well,  a  gripe  on behalf of someone else actually.  If you
      read the A.F review, you'll find that they talk about mascots and how
      we  shouldn't  have a joystick as a mascot, which is fair enough, but
      to  make  out  that  Pazza of LSD and Steve of V12-PD are cats, well,
      that's  going a bit too far!  I don't think Steve and Pazza will take
      too  kindly  to being called a cat.  Here's an extract of the review,

      example.   A  cat!   Not  an  inanimate object!" >1 So there you have
      it!!!   Conclusive proof that Zylax (PTK) has made out that Pazza and
      Steve are fury felines.  'Nuff said.

      Aaaaannnyywaaay...

      I'd  personally  like  to  congratulate  BSE  on  a great production,
      graphically,  it's  a  GrapeVine  beater,  but content wise I feel it
      trails  a  little,  but  considering  the fact that they have about 6
      people  contributing to their mag, I think you'll agree with me, they
      have done an excellent job.  >4Joe Bloggs:>1

      I think Mr or Mrs average disk magazine reader has a better choice of
      magazines now, than he/she did a year ago.  Here's to BSE, and Beyond
      Sanit-E  as well.  And yes, you've been waiting for the score for the
      past 780 words, so here it is......

Overall:  90% `I really do think it's brilliant, take no shit, it's
               miles ahead of most other diskmags', *

Sanit-E 4 is due out in July '96 and promises to be a cracker!!
