DmpView.doc DmpView, is a program that provides graphic emulation of multiple DMP-52 plot files overlayed on the Amiga screen. This progam is a modified version of our GerberView program which is part of a software package designed specifically to make Laser Photoplots for PCLO users. PCLO from SoftCircuits Inc. is a powerfull circuit board design tool. We used PCLO to design the Music Analyzer board. If you are interested in seeing the graphics emulator, you can run DmpView off the icon. You will then need to go into the I/O window, move into the Gerber directory, and load in DmpTop and DmpSilk. These plot files are of the Music Analyzer and were made with PCLO. You can use DmpView, to provide graphic emulation of any DMP-52 plot file, such as ones generated with Aegis Draw, Dynamic CAD, or Geodesic CAD. Note however, that this program is specifically design to work with plot files generated with PCLO. Any plot file with only DMP lines and symbols will be emulated well. The DMP formats supported are as follows: A 100 100 R 10 -10 ... Line commands, absolute or relative. S12 Diode12 ... Symbol commands, converts lower case to upper. CC 100 200 8 ... Circle commands, assumed to be of a set radius. DmpView OPERATION: This is a simple "See what you get" progam. Simply position the square mouse pointer on the spot on the screen you wish the next screen to be centered on. Then click the ether mouse button, the new screen will be generated. The (x,y) location of the mouse pointer is given at the bottom left in inches. This program dynamically allocates memory as it reads plot data, there is no limit to the size of the files provided your Amiga has enough memory. The program will exit leaving you in the directory that the I/O window was last in, you can start DmpView on one disk and exit in other disk. DmpView MENU BAR: Gerber: I/O: DmpView contains a browser type I/O window which may be used to search through disks and load in DMP-52 plotfiles. The root of the directory path is available by clicking: df0: Internal Drive df1: External Drive hd0: Hard Disk ram: Ram Disk PARENT Move up one directory, same as "cd /". On the left is a listing in that directory, a slide bar on the far left controls the list placement. If you wish to move into a directory, click its name. When you find the file you would like to read, click its name, it should appear in the File box at the bottom, then click "IN DmpPCLO". IN DmpPCLO Loads in a DMP plot file CLEAR Clears all data, layers, and the screen. DONE Return to the main window to see graphic data. After you have read in the file(s), click the DONE box, you will see the graphic emulation on the screen. Color: Color palette window, to change a color, click the color box, and adjust the slide controls. OK Return with new color palette CANCLE Return with old color palette RESET Reset colors to default palette Info: Information about Gerber Driver Quit: Exit program. Zoom: You may zoom in at the center, by selecting higher numbers. Layer: These are on/off switches for each layer allowing you to view any combination of layers. The layers are numbered in the order that the layers were read. Scale: 1, 2, or 4 scale enlargment may be selected. 1 - For nonPCLO plot files. 2 - For normal PCLO plot file 4 - For PCLO plot files using two leads between pads work. Laser photoplotting seems to be the best way to create razor sharp artwork at 1x ready to use to make quality circuit boards. Multi- stepped laser photoplots for production runs can generally be sent back to you the same day the disks are received, at most, there is a one day wait. Why so fast ? Because laser photoplotting is very high resolution raster beam phototizing, it takes only minutes to read in the Gerber Data file and generate the film in a single pass. Gerber Driver for PCLO 1.
