VorTech Presents: PHASE ][ -------- Music Disk #2! Greetings, It's hard for me to believe that over a year has gone by since I released "V". (Music disk #1 :) ) Most people probably don't even remember it, but that's ok. (Hey! Maybe that's a good thing, given that it was my first attempt.) In any case, I'm back, and I've got fresh amunition in the battle against blandness. 5 obnoxiously danceable technoish tracks, guarenteed to keep objects vibrating for miles around, when played through your Hi-Fi. As you may have noticed on the title pic, all these tracks are optimised for stereo play. So now you've got no reason not to hook up your boom box and drive the neighbors insaine. ;) So what are you waiting for? Abort the current tune "KickBack" with both mouse buttons, after you exit the text viewer with (ESC), and let's shake some walls!!!! If you're the type of user who just loves to read mindless text files. Please enjoy the following tid-bits: KickBack - A little tune I whiped up so everyone would have something to listen to whilest reading this text. (4 instruments. Count em' :) ) Vortex - VERY heavy sensory overload piece. Take care not to get sucked into the speakers; however, I will be the first to admit that this one's a little bit redundant, so, go for the inital effect but don't listen too long, or you'll wind up with a massive headache. :) Hard Core Lover - Short, but sweet dance floor love connection. Need I say more? Industry Standard - My first stab at the industrial genre. Purely experimental, but loads of fun. (Where's the pit?) Double Agent - James Bond visits the local night club or rock band with a techno fettish? You decide. (DANCE! DAMN YOU! DANCE!) System Wide Breakdown - I'm going to try to get into the habit of having one really well done piece on each of these disks. Technocrat was the masterpiece of "V", now SWB brings home the bassdrum for Phase ][. (Man, that sounds hokey. Oh well. Screw it. :) ) Now that that's over with, the inevitable question comes to mind for anyone who remembers "V". What happened to using ProTracker? Well, the answer is pretty simple. I still use ProTracker. It's just that OctaMed 4 has the nice ability to save module speeds, which I needed for the 5 main tunes this time. Actually, I did all the editing in ProTracker, then I loaded each mod into OctaMed, changed the speeds, and saved them out in OctaMed format. Now I know what some people are thinking. Why are you still using ProTracker? Well, that's a pretty simple one too. (My, you people ask easy questions. :) ) I just think that OctaMed is, by far, one of the most overly complicated programs that I've ever come across. With how easy it is for me to track in ProTracker, I really have no desire to try to figure out the mind-boggiling OctaMed interface. That's not to say that I don't think OctaMed is a fantastic program; because, it is. I've seen some very nice work done with it, but it's just not for me. (You'll notice that the tune "KickBack", which didn't require a speed change is still in its original PT format.) On another subject entirely. I am still looking for a crew or programing team that might be interested in using my music in demos/intros/games/disk mags, or the like, whether it be an existing tune, from disk 1 or 2, or something made to order. (Hey. What can I say? I'm flexable.) I got a few responses, after "V" came out, from some groups that were just forming, but nothing ever really panned out there, so, I'm still available. Just as before, interested parites can contact me at: Internet E-Mail: mdsst23@unixd1.cis.pitt.edu IRC: VorTech As always, I hope you really enjoy the musix, and totally get silly dancing to it. (I know I will.) Until next time(year?)! - What do you mean these speakers are illegal officer? - __ ___ _____ \ / | | 94' \ / ___ |___ | ___ ___ |___ \ / | || | | |__ | | | \/ |___|| | |___ |___ | |
