Here are some of the news in the music
world, since our last issue.

   Elton  John  has released 'The last
song'  a  single  of  his 'One' album.
It's  about a young (gay) man dying of
AIDS.   He  said that all the proceeds
from   all  his  future  U.S.   single
releases  will  be  donated to various
AIDS charities.

   Ugly  Kid Joe have finally released
their   debut  album.   It  is  called
"America's  least wanted', and it also
features  songs from their 'As ugly as
they  wanna be' EP. Three singles have
been  released  so  far:  'Neighbour',
'So  damn cool' nad the latest 'Cat in
a cradle'.

   What  St  Etienne,  Flowered Up and
Rocking  Birds  have in common?  Well,
besides  beeing indy, they all seem to
like  Right  Said Fred!  They released
an  EP of RSF singles covers.  All the
proceeds  will  be donated to Terrence
Higgins Trust (an AIDS charity).

   More  info  about  the  new  Freddy
Mercury  LP:  It is titled 'The Freddy
Mercury    album'    and    it's   and
retrospective  compilation of Freddy's
solo  work.   It  was  released on the
first  anniversary  of his death.  A 2
volume   home   video   and   a   new,
previously  unreleased, single is also
out!   It  was recorded in 1985 and it
was  written  by  Freddy's  mate David
Clark.   Of  course,  all proceeds are
donated to AIDS charities.

   And   now  something  unbeliveable:
Frank Sinatra and Madonna are roumored
to  be  touring  together!  We'll keep
you  posted  as  the  further  info is
available.

  John Lee Hooker has again released a
new  LP!!!   It's  his  3rd  in  three
years,  and  the  man is over 80 years
old!    Unvelievable!   It  is  called
'Boom  boom'  as  well  as  the  first
single   which  is  a  rework  of  the
original released in 60's.

   Chris Rea is also back with the new
album,  titled  'God's  great  bananna
skin' (?).  This is his 13th album!

   Red  Hot  Chili  Peppers decided to
cash in on their glory:  they released
an  greatest hits album, RHCP wickedly
named 'What hits?'.

   U2  have  released  a  fifth single
from 'Achtung baby'.  That's a remixed
version  of 'Who's gonna ride you wild
horses'.  The video is directed by the
same  guy  who  did  'Rattle and hum'.
They  have just announced the European
tour   dates.    The   tour  is  named
'Zooropa',  and  it  will only be held
outdoors  and it's a larger version of
American 'Zoo TV' tour.  Of course, it
starts in Dublin.

   A  lowdown  on 1992 tours:  U2 made
$40 million, Metallica is 2nd with $20
and   G'N'R   3rd   with  a  mere  $18
millions.  Poor fellas...

   Deacon Blue have released a new LP,
unfortunately, I haven't got the name,
but  the  first single is called 'Your
town'.

   The  guy  with  the  ultimate grind
voice   is  back.   Of  course,  we're
talking  about  Tom  Waits.   He  just
released  a 2nd single from his latest
LP,    'Bone    machine',   which   is
apparently  recorded in and around his
garden  shed.   The single is 'I don't
wanna  grow  up'  and it's a damn cool
song with a really great video.  Check
it  out!   He is set to tour Europe in
March.

   Dave   Stewart   is   again  up  to
something!    His  latest  project  is
called  'Vegas'.  Together with a dude
whose  name  I  didn't catch he made a
few tracks and then released an album.
The  first  single is called 'She' and
it's  a cover of the Monkees' classic.
Maybe  you  didn't  know but the older
dude in the video is Charles Asnavour.
Meanwhile,  Annie  Lennox is not doing
bad herself.  He released a 5th single
from  her  solo  LP, it called 'Little
Bird'.   She allready made a video for
every  song  on  the  album, so we can
surely  expect more singles...  In the
meantime, she gave a birth to a litlle
girl...   You  may  notice that she is
preagnant  in  the  video  for 'Little
Bird'.

   Melody  Makers  are doing a new LP.
It  is going to be made of half of new
stuff and half of Bob Marley's covers.
That'll be interesting to see...

   Udo       Lindenberg       released
'Panik-Panther',  a new album together
with   the  title  track  as  a  first
single.   The  song  is  aimed against
extremism and fascism.

   A documentary about the Grunge Rock
is currently beeing made.  Groups like
Sonic Youth, Nirvana, L7, Dinosaur Jr.
and  some  others  are  involved.  The
documentary  is curiously named '1991:
The year the punk broke'.  While we're
at  it  plans  are beeing made for the
release   of   'Red   Hot  &  Rock'  a
follow-up to 'Red Hot & Blue' and 'Red
Hot   &  Dance'.   The  band  said  to
contribute are:  Nirvana, Sonic Youth,
Smashing  Pumpkins,  Pearl Jam, L7 and
even R.E.M.!

   A   new   trend  is  on  the  rise:
Computer  games  music  in the charts.
After the Tetris tune from the GameBoy
stormed  the charts, SuperMarioLand is
on  the  srtike.   I don't see who can
buy that stuff...

   The  second  single  from the Brian
May's  solo LP is 'Back to the light'.
He   is   currently   on   tour   with
Guns'N'Roses.    Next   year  he  is
planning a solo tour.
