\F8\C1When you're on your way with the product you need to do the following
things. \C2Get the basic game up and running, with the main BIG routines
in there and working!\C1 Take contact by letter to a lot of software
companies, don't just go for the big ones and don't expect an answer
in 2-3 days, it might take weeks before they reply. In this first
letter just tell them who you are and what your planning to do and ask
them if they would be intrested to see a preview of your game. What
you have to do is \C2never to give out any working material until you
have got a Non-Disclosiure Agreement with the company\C1 in question
(this is a paper signed by the company that says that all
information/material given to them are to be kept confident and not
used in any other way than for evaluation). Once the company have
sent you this agreement, and you understand it, put together a preview
and include a document wich lists the features of the game. Also
write why you think your product would sell good and \C2when you are SURE
you can have it ready.\C1 The\BF TIME is very important,\NM remember making a
game takes a LONG time!\LF\LF

To sell a game to a big company like Virgin, System 3 or US Gold,
you'll have to be able to present your game \C2on at least Amiga and an
other computer or console.\C1 Megadrive, SNES, ST, PC are some 16bit
options. \C2Most companies say they can't afford a "one format release".\C1
Some companies will offer an opportunity to convert your game to other
formats, but you should be aware that to master a new system takes a
while, and \C2you can never be sure whether your smart solution will work
in another enviroment.\C1 If a company gets intrested in your product
and wants to buy it, there is some steps you MUST take.\LF\LF

\C21.\C1_Ask for a royalty rate in percent on net income both on your version
and any eventual conversions.\LF
\C22.\C1_Always make sure that you have the contract checked by a lawyer.\LF
\C23.\C1_Make sure you fully understand the contract and that you really
CAN do what the contract says you HAVE to do!\LF\LF

After this you'll have to face the calculating businessmen, the
production managers strange ideas, lot's of refuses and demands for
changes. \C2 But hang on, in the end it will pay off!\LF\LF
