\C2\LN\LF\CT\F6\C3OLD DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN BAD!\C2\LF\LN\LF\F7\FUBY : 911 of REBELS\LF\LF \F4\C1Not so long ago, I was checkin' out some charts and when I had a look at "Most Popular Musicians" I saw that almost every musician in this chart was one that is still very active and one who had stuff released at least less than 2 months ago . Why? Why is it that old musicians aren't so much voted for ?\LF\LF \F8I think that a lot of musicians from the old days did a lot of good stuff for Amiga-music in general. \C2Just as an example :\C1 Can you name at least three music- dudes who really invented new styles and ways to use new commands who are famous nowadays ??? I can't. But, if you look at the old musicians, you must agree with me that people like \C2Bruno , Romeo Knight or Uncle Tom \C1were guys that \BF'did' \NMsomething for Amiga-music and Amiga-musicians!\LF\LF \C2Let's start with Uncle Tom :\C1 He was one of the first musicians who really tried to do something different and he succeeded too ! Just listen to his \C2"Madness Took Me"\C1 (from the Mental Hangover demo) and you must agree with me that this hadn't been done before and I guess it will never be done in the future either... That is what I call innovative. This doesn't mean that I think that all new musicians are crap, but I think that only a few of the new dudes are really exploring the things you are able to do musically on Amiga...\LF\LF On to another well-respected musician :\C2 Romeo Knight :\C1 Hm , I don't like his music, but I do respect him for what he did... I think EVERY musician in this scene tried out to make a tune using the \C2'A0A' or 'A0F'\C1 command, but HE was the guy who did it for the very first time ! And why have so many musicians become famous with this technique and why are there people in this scene that don't know what I'm talking about when I talk about Romeo Knight ?? I think that musicians should look back instead of looking at the present scene all the time !\LF\LF Then there's \C2Bruno:\C1 He's my absolute favourite musician and I think he will always be.. He kind of invented a new style and all his tunes were/are original... Some really good and talented musicians did try to copy his music, \C2but to me noone ever succeeded \C1... Bruno is a musician that influenced dozens of really famous musicians.. Just have a go and load one of his Music Boxes or the Gate Megademo and you hear what I'm talking about.. So, I will better end this article, but there's one thing left to say: \C2Music-Lovers, Don't let those useless commands 'n fancy speed changes blind you , it is still music and originality that counts for all of you, doesn't it ??\LF\LF \C1Thank you for reading, and remember what I wrote when voting again for some chart or another , ok ??? These guys are worth your votes... \C3 BRUNO , UNCLE TOM , ROMEO KNIGHT , CODEX , S.L.L., BJORN A. LYNNE to name but a few.\LF\LF\XX
