\C2\LN\LF\CT\F6\C3THE USE OF ELITE\C2\LF\LN\LF\F7\FU\C1By Array / Scorpio\LF\LF \F3Just look through the advertisement section of for example this magazine, I bet that 90% of the adds will contain the word elite in it. Sentences like: \C2"Contax Wanted - Only Elite"\C1 and "Contact XXX / YYY 4 Elite swapping at..." seem to be very popular. \C2EVERYBODY\C1 seems to be elite nowadays, but when everybody is elite there is no-one to be superior over! Yeah, you could say that you are superior over lamers but that's easy, everybody is\C2 (except the lamers ofcourse!).\LF\LF \C1Back on the good'old 64 there was a game called Elite (like nobody knows it), it was my favourite back then and for those who don't know the goal was to become elite by trading fast and clever thus gaining more and more money and by fullfilling special missions. It was quite hard to reach the next level and it was very hard to get to the Elite level\C2 (I didn't reach it... damn!).\C1 So elite is something only a few people are because of outstanding deeds and great fame. There was also an Amiga version of this game but it didn't apeal to me as much because the coloured vectors took away the feeling of really being in space.\LF\LF So now that we have defined what Elite is I think it is time we change some things. People who are using the word should stop using it and find something else instead.\LF\LF Ofcourse there are still Elite dudes around and I'm sure you know to whom I refer. Anyway you should \C2judge for yourself\C1 whether someone is elite or not. If people call themselves Elite I think this is just bragging. The people who use the word elite but aren't know as it!\LF\LF\C3Maybe it is time you get a little bit more honest?\XX
