@2 -> ABOUT CRUNCHED SOURCE CODE ON THIS DISK <- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^@1 Some of the source code on this disk has been crunched using Power Packer. I realize this will cause some people hassle, but we have only crunched SOME of the source (mainly the large files). The crunched source is easily recognisable because it will have the extender .PP like this: @3 Polymorf.Amos.PP @1 If you load this into Amos you will get an error! On issue 1 we supplied an excellent util called FILEMASTER. If you don't have that you can buy issue 1 for £2.25 from us or get Filemaster from ANY P.D. library. You can run Filemaster and decrunch the source onto another disk. It`s VERY easy to do. Even better, using the filemaster.Amos source on issue 1 or the DFC5.Amos source on this issue you can run Filemaster from INSIDE Amos and then decrunch the source straight into your Ram disk, or anywhere and then flip back to Amos to run it. You can of course use other utils to decrunch the source code such as Power-Packer itself. (See MORE EXTERNAL PRGS FOR AMOS article) I have chosen to crunch the source with PP as it's very common and most people feel comfortable with it and it is widely supported. OK it's hassle for you, but when you look at the disk space gain and realize how many extra articles and programs you get in their place I think you will agree that this is the best compromise at the moment. Let me know if you think different. If you want to decrunch the power packed source code on this disk using Filemaster from inside Amos then do this: 1) Load Amos 2) Load Filemaster.amos@1 3) put Amoszine in DF0: and run Filemaster.Amos 4) When returned back to Amos hold down the left Amiga key and press A. 5) Click on Amoszine at the top of the left column to get a dir listing. 6) Open the Source_code drawer by double clicking on it. 7) Go to the right column and double click on Ram Disk (or DF1:) 8) Go back and Select a file to decrunch (Any file with .PP on the end) 9) Click on it once to highlight it. 10) Press the Space Bar to show menu 2. 11) Now click on DECRUNCH. 12) Press Left Amiga A to return to Amos. 13) Load in the decrunched file. @3 NOTE: You will need Powerpacker.library in the LIBS drawer of your boot disk for filemaster to decrunch anything. @2 You can now treat the source code as normal. @1 NOTE 2: If you run Amos from the Workbench then you can press Left Amiga and A to go to the workbench and then just double click on Filemaster or Power Packer rather than executing it from Amos, just thought I would let you know! @3 Steve.
