³¼THE GROUP OF THE¼³ ³¼ISSUE¼³ ¹ Yet a new column is born here in Top Secret. This time we present to you 'the group of the issue'. Each issue we will select the group that we think have done best, in the time between two releases of Top Secret. We will tell you why we have decided the group and we will talk to the group in hope of getting some useful facts. The group of this issue is Kefrens. As you probably all know, won Kefrens the demo-competition at the Gathering Party, with their two-disks trackdemo called 'Desert Dream'. Not only was that very impressing, but also the fact that Kefrens has won the demo-competitions everytime they have competed with a trackdemo is extremely impressing. We have talked with Kefrens to hear about the organization, the future, Melon Dezign and so on. ²We on Top Secret have decided to make you group of the issue, because you won the demo-competition at the Gathering Party. Do you think you deserved to win there ?¹ NO. Ofcourse not. Pornos competed with the best production !!! We think it is a miracle that we won with such cool competitors as The Pornos. ²Could you tell the readers something about the organizing, rules, members, etc in Kefrens ?¹ Organizing ? Rules ? Nasty words !!! We have really no organizer in Kefrens, and we don't have any particular rules. Why should we ?? If anyone want to join, we all discuss whether or not they can join. In a group with members in only one country, you really don't need any organizer. We just make something whenever we feel like. The only rule we got is to keep Kefrens 100% danish ! Members ? At the moment we are 12 more or less active members. Age from 17 to 26 (I think). A short list ? R.W.O, Laxity, S.L.L, Mellica, Razmo, Blizzart, Zeus, Dice, Vention, Airwalk, Maestro and Hawkeye. ²Everytime you have competed with a trackdemo, you have won the competition. Why ? Just pure luck or what ?¹ Well, I think it is a mixture. The first trackmo was Guardian Dragon released at the Lowlife/Light & Static Bytes. The other things released there were really only bigger intros so... The next one released was Guardian Dragon 2 on the Samsoe/Hurricane-party. Some other nice things were released there too, like 'In the Kitchen' by Anarchy - S.O.S by Melon etc. We guess that, it was the best so... The latest is Desert Dream. People expected a LOT this time. Spaceballs released their nice! precalculation called 'Mobile' and Sim Prods. released a big animation called 'Speed'. And they are both ok, but it is impossible to win a demo-competion with only one routine, and that is probably why we won. Finally, it has to be said that all main-coding on the winning demos has been done by Laxity... ²I have been told that on The Party'92 you made an agreement with Seen/M.D about stopping the minor 'war' that was going on. Is that true ? And if it is true, why did you make the Melon-sequence in the demo ?¹ Well, it is true that we have had some misunderstandings with Melon Design. But we think that it was blown way out of proportions by the scene. We talked to Melon at the party and they asked if we should stop this 'war'. The introduction in Desert Dream is meant as a joke on this little 'war-thing'. Seen also said that if we wanted to make an anti-demo against Melon, it should be a funny one, like the one they released on Samsoe. ²Could you tell a little bit about the groups future plans ?¹ Well, the next production will probably be a trackmo from Vention, hopefully released at TCC '93 in Sweden. Graphics will be done by R.W.O and music by either Maestro or Dice. Furthermore Vention will code a music-selector with fab music by Dice. Hardware Heaven should also be finished within the next month or so even if Blizzart tries to delay it even more than he already has. Zeus scared the shit out of all of us by saying that he will start coding something !!! Maybe a smaller trackmo ?? Only time will tell. We could have mentioned smaller things like a little Aga-intro by Laxity and Vention but why should we. Everyone in Kefrens will within a matter of month all have bought Aga-based machines and D.A.N.E will be the last bigger project from Kefrens on 500/2000. ²Anything to add ?¹ Nah... These questions was answered by Dice and Hawkeye, hope we made sense..
