November 1963, by Lee Harvey Oswald, who was killed short after his arrest. Who hired Oswald ? The Mafia ? CIA ? USA's 36. president Lyndon B. Johnson ? It's questions like this that have been discussed in the USA the last 30 years. We in ÊRAWÈ will try to give you some of the main points in Stone's theory, then it's up to you to decide who you're going to believe... Over 200 books are written about the Kennedy-killing, and there are made over a dozen movies and TV-series about the incident in Dallas. It has gone as far that a whole group of speculators meets regularly to exchange tips and theories about who were behind the murder of JFK and why. Soon it's only The Salvation Army that isn't among the suspects. Í(I bet it is the Salvation Army. Fucking double-crossing Christians ! Ed.)Ë Two official inquiries has been made around the killing. The first one was the most thorough, lead by the supreme court judge ÉEarl WarrenÈ, and concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald killed John F. Kennedy on his own hand with three bullets from a rifle. It also concluded that the man who killed Oswald, the nightclub-owner Jack Ruby, also acted on his own. This explanation has never satisfied the Americans though, and in a public poll 70 % answered that they think JFK was a victim of conspiracy. Some also believe that the Warren-commission was given misleading and, sometimes, forged informations and evidence. Oliver Stone's theory is based upon the investigation of É Jim Garrison È(In JFK played by Kevin Costner), a public prosecutor. Garrison meant that a conspiracy existing of the CIA, the FBI, American top-military, ex-Cubans, the Dallas-police and criminals from New Orleans, planned the killing of John F. Kennedy. Garrison further meant that the Warren-inquiry tried to cover up the truth, and that CIA forged evidence when it was needed, and Stone believes him. CIA believed that Kennedy would withdraw the American forces from Vietnam, and they also believed that Kennedy would make an agreement with the Soviet Union, which would "melt" the Cold War and prevent the beginning of The Arms Race. - That's why Kennedy was killed, says Stone. And it wasn't only John F. Kennedy who was killed, but also his younger brother Robert and the black-leader Martin Luther King, who both were shot down in 1968. Stone believes that there is a connection between the three killings. Stone's maybe strongest point is that his theory concludes that Oswald didn't kill President Kennedy. He believes that Oswald himself was an offer for a conspiracy, masterly directed by American top-military. Several evidence strongly denies that Oswald could have killed the president: - the range from the storage-building to the car in which Kennedy was shot, is over 80 yards, and according to people who knew him, Oswald was a lousy shot. FBI's best shooters later tried to shoot from that range, but failed. - the rifle which Oswald was supposed to have used, had damaged eye-sight, which made it even harder to hit from that range. Further, the rifle is ,according to weapon-experts, one of the worst rifles in the world. - test taken by the FBI indicated that the rifle hadn't been shot at all, and they found no finger-prints, until some policeman "discovered" them 12 hours later.
