2 8 abd 09a 46b ÌÉ WHAT HAPPENED IN 1991 Ê------------------------------------ ÉËby Lord Helmet / PMC È A new year has arrived, and it is time to summarize the previous one. We have to admit that 1991 has been the best year for the Amiga since it was born. Never has the scene been so big. Never has the scene seen so many great demos. Never has so many quality games been released, and never have there been so great parties as those in 1991. Let us cheer for this year and let us hope that 1992 will be even better. ÉTHE GROUPS Ê----------- ÈIn 1990 the top 3 was Paradox, Scoopex and Red Sector. But the 3 best overall groups in 1991 was Phenomena, Anarchy and Silents. They have released a lot of productions in 1991. I think those groups will continue with their nice work next year. So other groups who wants to make it to the top will have to work HARD. As every year there are new groups born and some dies. No real BIG groups died this year. But a lot of the famous crews have been quite lacy like CRB and Scoopex. The finnish has usually been the best to make groups die and born. I think that each finnish freak has been at least in 3 groups a year. É1992 Ê---- ÈI think the best groups in 1991, also will be the best in 1992. Rebels has lost some good members lately and 1992 will for them not be as good as 1991. ÉDISKMAGS Ê-------- ÈZine earlier competiors like D.I.S.C, Fourth dimension and Cracker Journal has more or less died. That was the reason why Zine at a while had NONE competetion. But now competiton is harder. Brilliant mags like I.C.E, MC disk and HACK MAG will make life harder for Zine. Too bad that all these mags are from German (Don't misunderstand me, I have nothing against german mags, but 3 out of the 4 best mags in the scene are from German. More variety would be better if you ask me!). Other mags who will try to entertain you in 1992 are Top Secret, Stolen Data ,this mag (R.A.W.) and a lots of more. In Eurochart Zine had 50 % then the year started, in the last issue they had 25 %. Who knows if this trend is going to last? É1992 Ê---- ÈThe diskmag scene will be a close race. No diskmag can say that they are the best, because it will differ from person to person. Personally I think that Mcdisk will be the most exciting diskmag in 1992. I also look forward to see what Zine plans to do. ÉMUSICIANS Ê--------- ÈThe scene has said goodbye to great musicians like Dr.Awsome, 4-mat and Walkman. But they have been replaced with new cool musicians like Tip and Heatbeat. The happiest musician in 1991 must be TIP. In 1990 he was Dust, now he's gold. He has become popular over night. He has released his music in last year best demo. He has also got his music in last years two best musicdisks: Ê - Crystal Symphonies - Music Dream II È Sure there is lot of guys who have more talent than Tip. But Tip make music that people like and what is what really matter. The new demostyle demands the songs to last longer and have more variety. That has improved the modules from last year. But also musicians who have been in the scene for a long time has released VERY cool modules in 1991 like Ê Moby, Jesper Kyd and Firefox. É1992 Ê---- ÈI think Tip will release some excellent pieces also in 1992. Some musicians will withdraw from the scene to make musics for games. ÿ
