2 8 B48 9BD 36A ÌÉINTERVIEW WITH MR.HYDE / ANDROMEDA ÊË------------------------------------ ÊMr. Hyde / Andromeda is one of the best coders in Norway. His last demo " Decaying Paradise " was good. Now he is working on a bigger project! È"Decaying Paradise" was a good demo. Have you started coding another demo of that quality? ÉYes. Dr.Jekyll and I are, just as you read this, coding on our new demo called "D.O.S.", which will contain new and tuff ideas. ÈI've heard some roumors your next demo will be released at the Crusaders easter party? Can you confirm that ? ÉNo. The only thing I can say for sure is that we will release it at one of the big parties in 1992. ÈWere you satisfied with the "Decaying Paradise"? ÉWell, as you probably expected, I must say no. When I look at it now I see many things I would have liked to change, like making it work on all sorts of Amigas and so on. (And maybe an exit option on the greetings-part?) ÈDid you expect to get more attention on the demo? ÉYes, if it had been spread better. ÈThe swappers in Andromeda are NOT allowed to make any sorts of packs. Why not? ÉAndromeda tries only to release products of quality. All sorts of products are always controlled before it is released, or not released. We discussed if we should release packs long time ago, and agreed not to. The reason is simply that we want to be known as a demogroup, not as a demoPACKgroup. ÈAre the swappers in Andromeda allowed to wear black underwear? ÉALLOWED?? THEY HAVE TO!!!!! (Have you ever visited Ralph on a Saturday night?) ÈDo you think there are FEW quality coders in Norway right now? ÉYes. And that is a shame! Quality rules! ÈIn the past you only released a quality demo each six months and that was it, now you are releasing more "small" demos and intros. Is this trend going to last also in the year 1992? ÉI hope so. A combination between large and "small" demos is pretty nice. But I am not sure, because almost all of the coders are working on large projects. Andy's "Multica", ours (Dr.Jekyll/me) "D.O.S." and Hydra's "Rivendell" are all, more or less, large demos. ÈHow will the best demos in 1992 look like? ÉThey will contain lots of fast code, brilliant ideas, nice graphics and music and they will of course contain good design. ÈFor how many hours have you sat in front of your computer without taking a break? ÉStupid question! Ask rather about for how long I've NOT sitten in front of my computer. That's a question I may answer. (But am I going to? -No). ÈIs it hard to find new ideas to code? ÉIt's not hard to find ideas, but it's hard to find GOOD ideas. Most often ideas pop up at school when we are having a boring lesson. ÈTell me what you think of a IBM machine? ÉTremendous machine if you like to play 6-frames per sec. adventuregames. ÈWhat is your motivation to use so much time to code demos? ÉSugarcubes (Not the popgroup, real ones!), and the great force called "Code-gleden". ÈYour last demo "Decaying Paradise" don't work on all machines. Isn't compability important for you when your coding? ÉYes it certainly is! That is why the fact that the demo doesn't work on all machines irritates my a lot! When we coded it, we checked it on several amigas, including 1/2 mbyte machines, 1 mbytes machines and an Amiga 2000. And it worked perfectly all times. (Hmmmm.) < Flip page> ÿ
