KNOWN BUGS: * 'Send subscripts?' doesn't work in retries. Major spaghetti retry code to fix this in :( RELEASE VERSION mark VII - TCP/IP sending and recieving now use a 32K buffer. This gives a dramatic performance increase! - Fixed silly problem with the NComm log containing *NULL POINTER* for the weekday on a Sunday. - Increased buffer size of joblist filenames from NAMELEN (128 bytes) to FNSIZE+FMSIZE (364 bytes). RELEASE VERSION mark VI - Bug fix: crashed when transmitting 0-byte files! RELEASE VERSION mark V - changed TEXTTV: to TELETEXT: assign (teletext support) RELEASE VERSION mark IV - fixed joblist reading bug, repeat time of 24:00 did not work - new command line switch "QUIET" to keep the ScalaNet screen in the back: ScalaNet [QUIET] RELEASE VERSION mark III - recompiled with changed init code from Modem/NullModem EXes. - Increased maximum allowed timeout errors doing maintenance since the player might be reading a huge directory. - Bug fix: closing a remote shell with 'EndCLI' could cause ScalaNet to hang. RELEASE VERSION mark II - Removed "7WIRE" tooltype and put in RTS/CTS button for port settings after all. Uses hardcoded "RTS/CTS" string (which is no real problem I guess). 7WIRE was too global and could become too big an annoyance (switching between Modem and non-7wire NullModem e.g.). - Maintenance -> Shell now handles retries. RELEASE VERSION (BETA 14) (NOTE: this beta requires at least InfoChannel Beta 55!) - New tooltype: "7WIRE". When set the serial.device will be told to use hardware handshaking (RTS/CTS) for all modem/nullmodem ports. So this is not switchable on a port per port basis for the moment (UI & strings are frozen for release). - Fixed missing delay problem after performing maintenance. BETA 13 (NOTE: this beta requires at least InfoChannel Beta 55!) - Kjell's SnapFiles stuff integrated. Perhaps hard to believe, but ScalaNet finally supports snapfiles! :-) - TCP/IP connect should properly support name servers now. BETA 12 (NOTE: this beta requires an up-to-date infochannel.msg library!) - after using "Show" in the file requester the Workbench no longer pops to the front. - 'Update teletext?' is also available in the "none" state, so you don't actually have to send anything to update the teletext pages. - Removed all (new) hardcoded strings and moved them to the Scala message library. - Bug fix: using "All" when sending files failed to fill in a correct 'receive' filename. BETA 11 - Default maintenance mode changed to "Download". - New 'Update teletext?' button in job control menu. Supports "our" teletext inserter TI500. Teletext pages will be automatically updated on the player if needed. IMPORTANT: this button is only available if the TELETEXT tooltype is set! See the CHANGES file for the EXes for more information. - Added APPENDSCRIPT tooltype. When this is specified script appending will be on by default. - After a maintenance connect there is now a 2 second delay before the console window is closed so you can actually read what's printed on-screen (like error messages). - Forgot to delete temporary file used to transfer directory structure (maintenance). Fixed. BETA 10 - Progress indicator while sending.receiving a file will now also show the cps rate. - Now uses TCP/IP from Interworks (C='s AS225r2). Removed AmiTCP stuff. - Added 'All' gadget to requester when receiving multiple files. - Bug fix: Maintenance still failed if incoming dir of a player didn't exist. Fixed. - Bug fix: when coming back to the maintenance GUI after a failed maintenance the indication of the total number of files was wrong. BETA 9 - ScalaNet will now retry when getting the directory for maintenance calls (as set in the System menu). - Fixed problem with old Modem EX choking on stuff sent by ScalaNet 500. Now does a remote version check before using new net-commands. - After retries run out when doing the maintenance call ScalaNet will now come back to the maintenance requester. - Fixed bug in maintenance: failed on NullModem connections. - Maintenance failed if incoming dir of a player didn't exist. Fixed. - Small bug fix in maintenance GUI. Could lose track of number of files selected for download. BETA 8 - Date checking now also properly works for script files. - 'System disk maintenance' added (SYS: partition on player). - ScalaNet will now retry maintenance calls (as set in the System menu). - Downloading from maintenance now downloads into a player's incoming directory (instead of straight on the InfoChannel master's disk). - Log file (and printout) will now show the date before the list of transmissions. BETA 7 - Maintenance in Beta 6 only worked for individuals. Should work for groups and 'All' now as well. - Completely new layout for first maintenance requester (to pick a receiver or group). More similar to the phonebook/group requester. - Fixed some small bugs in the maintenance file requester. BETA 6 - Implemented main part of maintenance and maintenance GUI. BETA 5 - The 'Ok' button in the 'Shell...' requester was completely non-functional. Removed both Ok and Cancel buttons, since selecting a receiver already closed the requester. - Bug fix: receiving over a TCP/IP link should now properly work. - When a file is sent the file date will now be set to the date of the original file. This has been done in a compatible way, so sending or receiving with an old ScalaNet or Modem EX should not cause any problems. - File date is now checked before sending a file. If the server supports getting the filedate, a file will not be sent if the date hasn't changed. If the server doesn't support filedates (older Modem EX) ScalaNet will behave as before (in some cases checking the file size, in other cases always sending the file). - 'Shell...' button replaced by 'Maintenance...' button. Menu that pops up allows you to choose between opening a remote shell or performing file maintenance on a player or group. NOT FULLY IMPLEMENTED YET! BETA 4 (NOTE: requires up-to-date infochannel.msg library! Beta 52+) - TCP/IP support added (based on AmiTCP 2.0 or higher). New port type in System menu (TCP/IP). Enter the TCP/IP address in the Number box in the phonebook. - System menu now make boxes inactive that have no meaning to the current port setting (like terminal speed for None for example). - Callback feature implemented. New "Callback?" gadget in phonebook and "Phone number:" gadget in System menu (_your_ phone number) for the modem port. - "Save configuration" in System menu will now automatically close the System menu (just like in IC500). - Bug fix: 'Send sub scripts?' failed to go beyond the first level of subscripts. BETA 3 (NOTE: this beta requires a new infochannel.msg library!) - Will now first start the script playback on the player and only then will install the script as autostart script. So if an error occurs starting the script playback a reboot of the player will _not_ fail because of a bad startup script. - When receiving a file ScalaNet (and the Modem EX) will now create a temporary file. The original file will only be replaced by the file that was sent if the transmission was successful. File replacement has been made as safe and as robust as possible as well. - Receiving a file will set the remote filename as the default filename in the file requester (instead of a blank filename). - Added version string to System window, under date and time. - Updated user interface to the "new" HumanTouch (PC) guidelines. The result is IMHO a much clearer user interface. - Every new string in ScalaNet has been put in infochannel.msg now. So you definately need to install the new message library. - New gadget in System menu: "Save dial log". Allows you to select a dial log filename in which all modem connections will be logged in an NComm compatible log format. - Misc changes to getfilename requester. - 'Save joblist...' box is now made inactive if there's no joblist to save (instead of doing nothing, which is confusing). - 'CLI' changed to 'Shell'. The 'Shell...' button now brings up a requester with all phone entries, making it much clearer what you are supposed to do :-) The button will now be available in the Group and All setting. BETA 2 - Version string added. - Phonebook entries now have a comment gadget where you can enter some extra information about the entry. The log will now include this comment under the receiver name. - System menu shows current date. Made info boxes recessed as they are layout boxes. - It is now possible to multi-select files and scripts when adding jobs. This makes it a lot easier to send a bunch of files to a specific reciever. - Some new baud rates: 57600, 76800 and 115200. - Simple progress indicator while sending a file. Shows the percentage complete and the number of bytes sent. - Log includes possible modem errors (BUSY, NO CARRIER,...). - Before attempting to connect ScalaNet will now print the name of the receiver to the screen. This is very informative when using groups (or All). - 'Send sub scripts' implemented. When this box is ticked in the job control menu ScalaNet will send the sub-scripts of the script it is sending. If 'Send fonts' and/or 'Send backgrounds' is ticked these will also be sent for the subscripts. Sub-scripts within sub-scripts (within...) are also handled, and scripts are never sent twice. - Added a 'Save status log' gadget to the System window. Allows you to select a permanent log file. ScalaNet will always append the last log to this logfile. - Added '...' to 'Terminal' string to make it clear this button brings up the mini-terminal as well as allows you to set the baud rate.
