RESET PROCEDURE FOR AOR AR1000 RECEIVER
            =======================================

Some time ago someone asked if it was possible to perform a complete
microprocessor reset on the AR1000.  The following procedure describes how this is performed...

"The following instruction describes the procedure for a complete
microprocessor reset in the AOR AR1000.  They should be followed exactly and completely, and the result will be a "factory fresh" receiver with all memories and lockouts released.  In other words, if all else fails, use this reset procedure to clear all the mistakes you made.

First of all connect a diode between pins 13 and 51 of the CPU, the anode of the diode to pin 13.  Turn on the radio and enter the following information exactly. Note that in steps 6 and 7 the frequencies above 1000 MHz do NOT require the entry of a decimal point, so the apparently incorrect 109995 is actually how it should be entered.  When reset is complete, turn off the radio, remove the diode, and reprogramme the radio as required.

Tony advises that in his experience the above procedure rarely proves necessary and should only be used as a "last ditch" attempt to revive a "locked up" radio. In any case, fiddling with the innards will almost certainly invalidate the radio's warranty, so it's advisable to always consult your dealer  BEFORE opening the case!

Extra Note:-- I have done the above MOD to my Fairmate HP100E and now it covers 500khz to 1300mhz NO GAPS. Its a bit awkward to get at the CPU but its worth it in the long run.. Bob G0LBQ @ GB7SOL.
