LHA The Archiver. How to use me??
LHA and 7Plus??

What is it? Well the prog 'LHA' is THE best file compactor, (DMS is the 
best disk compactor)

How to use it?? Its easy when you know how! So I'll tell you.

THIS MAY NOT BE THE BEST WAY TO USE IT BUT IT IS THE EASY WAY SO THAT 
ALL MAY UNDERSTAND!

There are 2 ways to use the LHA prog. The first is via the PD prog 
DiskMaster, all you do is click on the files and use the "ADD" command!
Simple eh? I can supply this if needed, info later.
The second and other way is to use the Shell/CLI and the LHA prog, of 
which I can also supply.

Right here we go then. I will assume you are using an external drive. 
Using your copy of Messy Sid or similar file utility you must copy the 
LHA prog and your "file" to a  (SAME!) blank disk.
Load up your COPY of Workbench and NOT your original, then open a 
Shell/CLI
I assume that you will be archiving 1 file. I'll talk you through 2 or 
more files later. Call this file TEST.

Right then here we go! Insert your disk into DF1 and then type this:--
cd df1:    (return)
Now type this EXACTLY AS WRITTEN.. NOTE the use of Lower Case letters 
and Upper Case letters. THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT.
(Lets call the output file "BOB.lha")

lha a BOB TEST df1    (return)
What this means is 'lha' and add the file called 'TEST' and then call 
the output file 'BOB.lha' It will put the '.lha' on automatically for 
you when its done.
If you want to call the output file 'Amiga' then just alter the command 
to suit. ie  "lha a Amiga TEST df1"
Thats it! Easy isn't it? (so far!)

Now onto multi files, lets call them TEST, BOB, G0LBQ.
As above make sure that the three files and the LHA prog are on the same 
disk in drive DF1.
Insert Workbench and open a Shell/CLI (into df0)
Now type:-- 
cd df1:   (return)
Type the following EXACTLY calling the output file "Radio"
lha a RADIO test bob g0lbq df1:   (return)
You should then have a file called 'Radio.lha'

Simple or what??

Now that you have got a single file called "whatever.lha" you are able 
to send this over the packet network using 7Plus....

Now onto Un-arcing. This is just as simple!!
Insert your "lha file" and "lha prog" (on disk) into df1
Insert and load Workbench from df0
Open a Shell/CLI and type this:--
cd df1:   (return)  {DON'T FORGET THE COLON!}
copy lha ram:  (return)
copy TEST.lha ram:  (return) assuming your lha file is called "TEST.lha"
If the file is short then do nothing but if it is long (100Kb or more) 
then insert a new blank disk into df1
Now type this. NOTE the use of Upper/Lower case letters. IMPORTANT!
lha -x -M x -2 TEST.lha df1:   (return)
For other files substitute the "TEST.lha" for your own file name
Then wait and thats it! ALL DONE!

disk in the drive!!!" Just ask. OK.
