When you have finished reading, press `ESC` to quit. ************ INTRODUCTION ************ Thankyou for taking the time to look at Pro-Lottery. There are many lottery prediction programs available for the Amiga, some of which make promises of amazing wealth, others just pick random numbers, some are just unuseable. Pro-Lottery is something very different. For a start, if you think that you`ll become a millionaire using Pro-Lottery then you might as well switch off your computer now - it`s impossible - no-one but no-one could possibly devise a system that would guarantee jackpot wins. On the other hand, if you fancy the idea of regular, smallish wins with an increased chance of winning larger prizes then stay tuned! In fact, it`s not just regular wins that are offered - it`s regular multiple wins. This is because Pro-Lottery not only picks the numbers for you, but arranges them across a number of tickets according to your budget. For example, a syndicate with 30 pounds to spend each week, could pick 9 numbers either predicted by the computer, or by using their own lucky numbers. They only need to get 3 numbers correct out of 9 (much easier than 3 out of 6!) and they are guaranteed at LEAST 6 tenners - often more. If they get 4 correct (still easier than 3 out of 6!), then they`ll win 3 of the fourth prizes (around 65 quid each) and 10 tenners! No matter how much you spend on the lottery, whether it`s 2 pounds or 30 pounds Pro-Lottery will be able to come up with a suitable perm for you, all of them offering multiple prizes when successful. Don`t forget though, that you`ve got the added bonus that Pro-Lottery is picking the numbers for you, based on PROVEN methods that have been successful in the Florida, Canada and other lotteries around the world. This means that while small wins are very easy, your chances of winning the larger prizes are also much improved. ********************* SCEPTICS - READ THIS! ********************* You are no doubt sceptical as to a computer can possibly predict numbers that are generated by a `random` event such as a lottery draw. The law of averages - that`s how. Before reading any further, press `ESC` to quit this text file, and then double click on the `Does It Really Work?` icon. This will load a seperate program that explains just how lottery prediction is possible, and it contains many `live` examples of the law of averages at work. ******************************** LIMITATIONS OF THIS DEMO VERSION ******************************** This version of Pro-Lottery is not the full version - it is intended to demonstrate the full program`s abilities, and to introduce you to ideas of lottery prediction, without you having to spend any money up front. There is nothing worse than spending money on software, only to find out later on that you`ve wasted your money. I want to show you exactly what Pro-Lottery does before you send me a single penny. Obviously, parts of the program have been disabled. They are as follows ... o Saving Of Results - Although this version will let you carry out the process of entering the draw results so as you can see how easy it is, it won`t actually save them to disk in this version. o Number Selection - Pro-Lottery uses 3 types of numbers in it`s perms. Predicted numbers, Lucky Numbers and Random Numbers. As you won`t have a full history of draws on this disk, predicted numbers are impossible, and therefore have been disabled. It`s also not possible to use your own Lucky Numbers in the perms (I don`t want to give the whole program away free!), however the Random number generator is fully functional and can be used in conjunction with all of the different perms, none of which have been disabled. o Statistics - Pro-Lottery displays a whole range of charts and graphs giving various statistics relating to past Lottery draws. Although a complete history isn`t present on this disk, you can still access all of the statistics screens to see what`s what. If the demo was obtained from one of the listed libraries CD Compilations, then you are still entitled to the discount - just describe the design of the CD`s label as proof of purchase. *************** GETTING STARTED *************** -- STARTING THE PROGRAM -- Switch on (or re-boot) your Amiga with the Pro-Lottery disk in the drive. A Workbench screen will appear, containing the Pro-Lottery disk icon. Click twice quickly on this disk and a window will open containing some new icons. Again, double click on the Pro-Lottery icon. The program will then load. Note that this does take a while, so don`t panic if nothing happens for a while. The screen will go black for a bit - again don`t worry - it hasn`t crashed! Eventually, you will see the Pro-Lottery title screen. THIS VERSION MUST BE BOOTED! IT WILL NOT WORK FROM YOUR OWN WORKBENCH OR HD. The full version is hard-drive installable. -- PRO-LOTTERY`S MAIN SCREEN -- The main screen is basically the same throughout, and consists of three parts. The title bar at the top tells you what generally is happening (eg: Number Updating, Predictions etc). The main bit in the middle is where all the menus etc appear. At the bottom is a blue box - the help box. At all times, the help box will tell you what you are meant to be doing. If you get stuck, it`s more than likely that the help-box will `unstick` you. Also, most of the time, a `question mark` icon is displayed within the help-box. When this symbol is displayed, extra help is available by clicking on it with the mouse pointer. Virtually every aspect of the program is explained within the two help facilities, eliminating the need for a lengthy manual. -- USING PRO-LOTTERY -- These instruction relate to the full version of Pro-Lottery. Parts that are not relevant to the demo are marked (Not Demo). Pro-Lottery is exceptionally easy to use, especially with the constant help available. All the same, I`ll just give you a general run down of the way things work, and what you should expect. I haven`t given precise details of what keys you should press, or what icon to click on, as all of this is covered in the program itself. >>DATE If you have a battery backed up clock installed in your Amiga, then Pro-Lottery will automatically get the date from that - you will be asked to verify that it is correct. If no clock is available, you will be asked for the current date. >>UPDATING RESULTS From the date, Pro-Lottery works out what results are missing from the system, and asks you for those missing results. >>WINNINGS (Not Demo) When the results have been entered, Pro-Lottery has a look at the perms it created the previous week to see how successful they would have been. If any of them would have won, you will be told, otherwise you will be taken to the Main Menu. The 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 line entries aren`t covered in this part of the program, as they are only parts of the Lucky 7 (which is checked). If a win is found on a Lucky 7, then you will more than likely have a couple of wins on the smaller perms as well. Pro-Lottery checks all the perms for predicted, random and lucky numbers no matter what you selected to view last session. You will find this part of the program very interesting, although it can be frustrating if you chose to use the predicted numbers, and you later find that the random ones would have generated 8 x 5th prizes and 4, 4th prizes! C`est La Vie! >>MAIN MENU Just 2 options of major importance here. You can choose to view the predictions, or view the statistics. >>STATISTICS Predicting lottery numbers is much more difficult than predicting the results of horse races or football matches, however patterns do occur, and when they do, it is important that you spot them straight away. Because of this, Pro-Lottery doesn`t keep it`s statistics to itself - being the kind, generous program it is, it allows you to view any of the stats held in memory. Don`t be afraid to experiment. If you see a pattern forming on a graph, or a cluster of numbers being drawn often, together - then use those numbers! Similarly, if you get a hunch when looking at one of the charts that a certain number may be drawn soon, use it! You`d kick yourself if on Saturday night it made the difference between winning and losing! If you do decide to make your own predictions, then just enter them as being your own personal lucky numbers - you`ll be able to change them again the following week. >>NUMBER SELECTION >>PREDICTION TYPES Three types of selections are available. (Random only in demo) Predicted Pro-Lottery`s own attempt at analysing the stats. Random You never know! Lucky Numbers User-definable numbers that can be lucky numbers, birthdays, your own predictions or whatever. Selecting this option will give you the chance to change the numbers if you want. >>PERM TYPES Pro-Lottery`s perm abilities give it real power. They range in cost from very low up to 30 quid, ideal for syndicates. All the perms offer multiple prizes when successful. For example on the Lucky 8 perm (28 pounds), get 3 numbers correct out of 8 (a lot easier than 3 out of 6!) and you`ll win 10 tenners! Get four correct and you`ll win 6 X 4th prizes, plus up to 16 tenners! Even just the 7 pound perm will win you 4 X 5th prizes if you get 3 out of 7 correct. If 4 come up, then you`ll get 3 X 4th prizes and 4 X 5th prizes! Don`t forget that your chances of winning larger prizes are also much improved. Be sensible though, don`t suddenly start spending 30 quid a week on lottery tickets when you previously only bought one! If you can get a small syndicate together, then I`m confident that you`ll be winning regularly. Full details of all the perms are contained in the relevant help page. >>PREDICTIONS When you have selected both the prediction type and the perm type, you will be shown the prediction on a series of playslips similar to those used by Camelot. All you need to do then, is sit back and wait! >>WINNINGS If you do win a major prize, then I`d be glad to hear about it - don`t worry, it will be in total confidence, and I won`t ask you for any! (although donations would be gladly accepted!!!) >>PROBLEMS I have tested this program thoroughly, but as early users of Pro-Gamble will know, bugs can and do crop up from time to time.
