Finally : If You Want to Contact Me Installation BioCalc will either run directly from floppy, or from hard disk. To install to hard disk, simply drag the BioCalc drawer over to your drive. It should work fine. Introduction Do you often find that you have 'good' days and 'bad' days? Some days, you will be fill of confidence, while at other times, you will be unable to do anything right. Wouldn't it be useful if you could some how predict which of those days would be when? You would be able to plan your life much more easily. Biorhythms are such a way of predicting these good and bad days. Everybody has three cycles, or biorhythms, which each alternate between positive, or high (denoted by H), and negative, or low (L) phases. They are the Physical, Sensitivity (or Emotional) and Intellect cycles. Each cycle begins the day we are born, and takes a set amount of time to complete; 23 days for the physical, 28 days for the sensitivity, and 33 days for the intellect. Therefore, to calculate what stage each cycle will be in on a particular day, the number of days since you were born must be calculated. As well as high and low stages of a cycle, it is also significant when a rhythm is changing from high to low, or vice versa. These are known as critical (denoted by X) stages, and can be worse than a low stage; they are times when you are particularly prone to mistakes. Thankfully, they only last for about a day. Instructions Upon loading BioCalc, you will be taken to the main screen. So that your Biorythm cycles can be calculated, you must first enter your date of birth, followed by the date to want to calculate for (calculation date). For this purpose, there are two sets of Date, Month and Year gadgets. Enter in you birth date (ie, date of the month) and the target date in the appropriate boxes. Next, click on the two cycle gadgets below so that the correct months are showing, and lastly, enter the years. When you have done that, click on the Calculate! button, and your biorhythm cycles will be calculated for the month beginning with the target date. Three curves will be drawn in the graph; red is physical, blue is sensitivity, and green is intellect. The white numbers are the days of the month. From this graph you can tell if a particular cycle is in its high, low, or critical phase. If you wish to change either of the dates, then do so, and simply click again on Calculate! to draw the new graph. Also, there is the Length requester, next to the Calculate! button. Normally, biorhythms are calculated for 31 days following the target date, but you can change this number by entering a new one in the box, and then clicking on the Calculate! button. You may have noticed some text appear in the top right hand corner; this is the program's analysis for the day. If you want to see about another day, then click directly onto the graph at the position of the date that you want to find out about. Clicking on Save Text allows you to save the text being displayed as an ASCII file; a window appears, asking you to enter the filename. The cycle gadget allows you to save it as a new file, or append it to the end of an existing file. Click on the file requester gadget to open a file requester. Then click on Save or Cancel. Export graph allows you to save or print out the graph, either in two or eight colours. Again, you must specify the filename, but also the X and Y size for the resolution. Note that graphs are printed at the same size whatever; only the resolution is changed. I recommend for better printing that you save the graph anyway, and print from a DTP program, or whatever, as this feature is fairly basic (beware, you cannot cancel the printing while in operation). I hope to improve this in later versions. Files are saved as standard 8 colour Hires IFF screens. Distribution BioCalc may be distributed freely, as long as: BioCalc is distributed together with this Text document and the AmigaGuide document. None of the files are altered in any way. No money is charged except for disks, postage and handling fees. I give permission for BioCalc to appear on CD-Roms, Magazine Coverdisks/CoverCDs, and anywhere else as long as the above conditions are met. Protector V1.4 - This is a file encryption program which will encode and decode any type of file, of any size, securing them from prying eyes. It will also 'hide' files within other, larger files, so others won't even suspect a file is encrypted. Also includes batch encryption and an ARexx port. Lottery Numbers V1.2 - This differs from other such programs in that it doesn't 'attempt' to predict the numbers on previous draws, but instead calculates those numbers which are least likely to be chosen by other people, therefore increasing your share of the money if you get four or more numbers. Includes a file of about the first year's draws. Critical Path V1.03 - This program performs critical path analysis, should you need it. Allows you to build up a network, and it will calculate the critical path, and the earliest, latest and float times for each task. PealIt!Pro - A program for bellringers! This allows you to enter in place notations, convert them to methods, and play them back. You can call plain, bob or single lead heads, and have between three and twelve bells. You can take control of a bell yourself to improve your playing, change the bell sample, have a 'random timing' element, and even take part in the 'Name that Method!' Quiz, as well as much more. It comes with a file of around 80 5-bell place notations. Finally... This program was written using AMOSPro, and the interface makes use of the Dialog Procedures.
