THE THIRD DIMENSION  

                      MANDY'S BRAIN-BUSTERS
To mark the second birthday of  the  diskmag (yay-hay!!!!) there are a
few more brain-busters than usual.  See how many you can solve.

The column is dedicated this month especially to Mark Olive who kindly
rushed to my rescue with some  expert  advice like a knight in shining
armour.  Thanks Mark, I am now pain-free and munching away as if I was
born to wear falsies!

Here is a little snippit which contains at least (!) 20 words that you
will find very familiar if you deal with 3D Kit a lot.  Note that some
words are split between words or sentences, for example:  The dog made
a MESS. AGE does that to them.  See if you can find them all:-

Moving to a new area is so  exhausting.  Oh, please remind me that our
worldly-wise Martin doesn't know my new co-ordinates.  I'll send him a
wire.  Frame that picture for me and  position it beside the window at
the correct angle please.  Goodness me,  I'm in no condition to unload
any more packing cubes.   Let's  save  it  for  now  and  test out the
attributes of that new take away  before  I lose control.  I wanted to
see the menu but I couldn't find  the entrance yesterday.  That is, if
you don't object to Chinese  food  after  you  caught a tummy bug last
time?  It seems to have plenty of atmosphere!  The routine customers I
saw through the window seemed quite  animated.  I'll go and get ready,
I won't be a tick.  Why don't you watch that program on the television
while I file my nails?


                            HIDDEN SAYINGS
Two sayings have been fused together below.  Try to unravel them.  All

                         MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
I take no credit for  this.  It  was  all  the  work of my friend Mary
Scott-Parker.  All you have to do is  to put in the apropriate musical
instruments into the blanks below.  Note: some are humerous so allow a
little licence to the author! Clue: the names of the characters should
be noted!

Joe  met  Ina  on  a  .....liner.    She   looked  very  smart  in  an
.........pleated skirt with a bunch of  .....ts at her waist.  Hearing
her ....like voice, he rushed to meet her  and fell over a .... of oil
on deck.

Would you like to go to the ..........? he said.

No. I'd rather hear the ..... she replied.

Before they went, Joe looked  longingly  at  the  bar  and said, if he
didn't get a ....... he would get a chill in his .....

They decided to play cards instead.

Ina said to Joe  impatiently,  "To  take  the  trick  you will have to
......." adding, "when you should play a  high card, why do you always
.......?"

He said, "You are a ...."

She replied, "......sticks,  let's  go  and  have  an ice-cream ......
Have you got enough ....?"

He whispered in her .....like ear and  then kissed her ......tly, as a
...... of his affection.  She however, hit him on a prominent .....

He .......d nonchaiantly as he walked  away.   Standing on the deck he
had a .... and watched the  sailors  ........  while he idled away his
time leaning over the rails.

                              HOMOPHONES

These  are  words  that  are   pronounced   the  same  but  are  spelt
differently.  E.G. SUN - SON.   Fine  two  homophones for each pair in
