The Star Trek Episode Guides Disks Version 1.21

Welcome to the Star Trek Episode Guides Disks.  Please note that the disks
are Public Domain.  However you must not alter any of the contents of the
disks.

To PD companies:

Do not charge more than your normal amount for these disks.
Ensure that both disk 1 and disk 2 are included in the package.
Ensure that the documents are included on the disk.

The Star Trek Episode Guides Disks, started as a project for one of my
friends.  Basically I wanted to list all the episodes for him, and to put
them on disk for ease of use.  Eventually I produced Version 1.0 and then
decided to update the package.

Version 1.0 was graphically unappealing and therefore my main concern was to
update the front end of the program.

Version 1.1 got lost somewhere along the line.

Version 1.2 covers all the versions of Star Trek up to the seventh and final
season of The Next Generation, and the start of the third season of Deep
Space Nine. It also covers basic character information on the new Star Trek
series Star Trek: Voyager.

Version 1.21 is a slight update from Version 1.2.  It basically corrects a
few errors in the character information screens, and updates Counsellor
Troi's character information.

Known Bugs:

Occasionally on 1mb Amigas the menu screen will not draw correctly.  This is
due to the program using up all ram and therefore graphics will not be
displayed properly.  I have only encountered this problem intermittantly and
therefore I hope that it will not spoil the enjoyment that you receive from
the package.  I will have this bug ironed out and the problem will not occur
in Version 1.3.
Remedy: Turn your computer off and reload the package.

What is Star Trek II ?

For anyone who does not know, Star Trek II was a proposed series of Star
Trek that was to have been filmed in the late seventies.  The series 
involved all of the original cast, except Mr. Spock.  Three new main 
characters were developed, Xon, Ilia and Decker.  The latter two ended up
being characters in Star Trek The Motion Picture.


Initially I was going to offer the program as demo only, but decided to
release the full package with intentions to update as and when necessary.
i.e. at the end of each season of DS9 and Voyager.

Unfortunately at present I am in between addresses and therefore to gain any
information on how to order the updates I'm afraid you're just going to have
to get hold of a copy of my next project 'The Lost in Space Multimedia
Pack' or my next Star Trek project (as yet untitled and undecided).

The Lost in Space program will be much larger and have more detailed analysis
of each of the episodes and characters of the series.  The release date is
not confirmed, but as I won't have my Amiga with me for the next few months
then I would assume January/Febuary 1995 at the earliest.

I had hoped that this Star Trek package would have included some sound
samples of each of the characters, but eventually I gave up on the idea.  If
you would like to hear sound samples in future packages let me know after
you get hold of my address (from somewhere!!!).

Help:

I wanted the program to be much larger, and was hoping to interconnect many
small programs.  Is there a way to do this with hyperbook and would it
involve a dos script.  Please could anyone answer this question (especially
of anyone at the superb CU Amiga and Amiga Format are reading this
document).

Watch out for more Multimedia products in the future.
