°¸ "The Panasonic KX-P1124 24 pin printer" (continued) » My first 'TEST' with the printer was to work out how to set it up the way I wanted it.. Hmmm, no DIP Switches.. Read read read.. Arrr Ha! 'Initial Setup Mode'.. I have to programme it!.. ± I set all the bits and pieces to what I wanted, and I had a printer setup the way I wanted it! No worries.. × A few tests revealed that it was printing just fine! So I needed to test if graphics would print out well.. Unfortunately because I don't have the right printer driver yet, only straight Black & White was obtained from Deluxe Paint Four and WordWorth, but using Gprint I was able to get some amazing pictures. Using Ultra High Quality print mode I was able to get a 700 pixel wide picture to print at a size less then 2 inches wide (5cm).. REALLY SMOOTH! ç Overall this printer is great, it is not colour, but it's everything I ever wanted in a printer. I think the only change in printers I will ever need is if I decide to get a laser printer, and at the current cost of a laser printer I don't expect to change! ª There is an updated version of this printer out, The KX-P1124i. It's extra features include an LCD display, more fonts, faster speeds, larger buffer. (Pagestream 2 is great with this printer too!) [¸WIZ OF OZª]
