AddressPrint V3.0 and higher should work with most printers providing you use
the correct printer driver. Address-Star V1.0 will definitely work with a
Star LC200 printer and may work with other Star printers. If you do
experience problems with AddressPrint or Address-Star, please let me know
giving details of your Amiga, printer and other hardware.

Please ensure that you use the correct printer driver for your printer.

Copying to other disks
----------------------

In order to make AddressPrint or Address-Star run on another disk the
following files/directories are required:

                      1: AddressPrintV3.1 (obviously!).
                         or Address-StarV1.0

                      2: AddressPrintV3.1.info
                         or Address-StarV1.0.info

3: Directory named - Addresses and the
                         files in it called ADPprefs31
                         for AddressPrint or ADPprefs for
                         Address-Star.

                      4: The file named - copyright_sprite.abk

                      5: Port-Handler in the l/ directory.

                      6: printer.device in the devs/ directory.

                      7: parallel.device or serial.device,
                         (depending where you have connected
your printer.) in the devs/ directory.

8: The appropriate printer driver for your
                         printer in the devs/printers directory.

History
-------

AddressPrint was the resolution to a problem I had. Basically I found it
a hassle to keep changing the set-up on my word processor just to print an
address label. So with my copy of AMOS in hand I set to work on AddressPrint
V1.0 (never released)...

The earlier versions of AddressPrint (V1.0 - V2.2) are in fact early versions
of Address-Star as they would only work with a Star LC200 printer!!!

V1.0 Loadfile, Createfile, Printfile and Redofile (once loaded). Very basic
      but done the job (Ooeer!).

V1.3 The same as V1.0 except that it let you know it was printing.

V2.0 Better user interface, looked nicer, this was to be the finished
      product.

V2.1 All singing all dancing version with Printer options. Wow!!!
      The first released version.

V2.2 Basically V2.1 less the bugs and some cosmetic changes.

Address-Star V1.0 & AddressPrint V3.0

AddressPrint improved then renamed to Address-Star V1.0 a custom version for
the Star LC200 printer. This new version is then reprogrammed to work with
other printers and renamed back to AddressPrint V3.0

Improvements:

A screen has been added to display the current file, and the maximum no. of
characters permitted is displayed on the main screen. Printer options have
also been extended:

                                 Label Skip

                        Left & Right margin settings

                           No. characters per line

                          Save Preferences feature

AddressPrintV3.1 - As V3.0 but with a label spacing feature, enabling the
user to account for labels of different size & spacing. This feature can be
found on the Print Options screen and is changed in the same way as the
margin settings. Permitted values are - 1 min to 10 max. It is now also
possible to quit AddressPrint whilst on the Print Options screen.

Please note - Address-Star does not have the label spacing feature. If you
would like to see an updated version of Address-Star, please contact me at
the address at the end of these documents.

Instructions
------------

You should not really need these but they're here all the same:

Load File
---------

Eeeeer? Oh yeah you load a file with this one via a file requester.

Create File
-----------

Well this is where you type in the all important addresses. Max of five
lines. e.g..

                           Name : Paul Lathwell
                         Line 2 : 3 Sweetbriar Close
                         Line 3 : Gadebridge
                         Line 4 : Hemel Hempstead
                         Line 5 : Herts HP1 3PA.

Delete File
-----------

Come on do you really need to ask! OK. Remove a file from the disk.

Redo File
---------

Only selectable with a file in memory. This is an amend facility the whole
file needs to be re-typed except for the file name. If a file is in memory
and you select Load, Create, or delete from the menus the Redo feature will
be lost unless the file is reloaded. It is however, still possible to select
the Print and Options from the menus.

Print File
----------

Print the file in memory.
