2 6 88c 77a 94a ÌÊ LOSING MY RELIGION ÉË------------------------------------ ÈbyÊ Axworthy/Esthetic. ÈIn R.A.W.#2 Elwood of Massive Ê(Now Paragon) È presented some of his 'theories' about the creation of earth. According to him, the Darwinists and the Christians are both wrong. In the following lines I would like to tell you about my personal relation to religious questions... ÉThe church has always denied Darwin's theories - why? È Mainly because his ideas were questioning the existence of God, but also because it made people think, and it would be harder for the religious leaders to get the upper hand in society. The bible has always justified encroachment and murder to 'deal with' intellectual people - it has been a tool to maintain power and prestige in the religious hierarchy. Today there is not much left to this fanatism. É The Bible is still regarded as the book of life, but somehow it has lost its value.È Who wrote the bible and, why? É I wonder: Èdidn't the religious sovereigns write it, speculating in man's naive submission - giving them unlimited power and wealth? Maybe. But if this is true, it would be É 'the perfect crime,'È and that is hardly believable, isn't it? I'm not religious, but I'm not an atheist either. Actually, atheism ÉIS È a relegion to may people - the antireligious ideas become som important that they end up worshipping them. People always believe in somthing, even the one who commited suicide does - he believed in death. The many religions show that human is too weak not to believe in something. How do we choose between the different religions? Why is Christianity said to be the 'right' decision? Which religion offers the most glamorous heaven? Absurd. Infact, É RELIGION, È is absurd. Allmost all known religions have got the same values and the same way of looking upon life. I have to admit that I agree with many of these laws and values, but they are all part of the human culture, so why do we have to give our souls away to Allahs and Buddahs? The thing I really dislike about the religion, is that the ones who regard themselves asÉ 'saved'È, often seem to think they are better than the others. Maybe it's a result of the great happiness, caused by the tremedous feeling about being 'picked out' and used in God's plans. Never mind that little happiness É - I don't think its real. ÈReligious people are too worried about hate, pain and sacrifice. Am I wrong? I might be... Please let me know if I am. but.. What if those poor religious people are too far out to own a computer.. Then.. then I will never know! (Just remember: No one canÉ REALLYÈ claim that they are right or wrong on this subject.) ÊWell, It seems like Elwood/Paragon's article has rised a debate here in RAW! So, come on, give us your intentions about this subject! But please, next time you write an article for us (as we hope you will do), Axworthy, send it as an ASCII file on disk, please!
