The tune lasts for quite a while, and THAT is something I personally admire.(Duration 7:50). The first part of the tune is very harmonic and calm. This is also nice to listen to, but I dont like the instruments used. Sounds TOO much like AMIGA! This tune can clearly be devided in 4 different parts by style, melody, structure, BPM..everything.... Personally I like the 4.th part best. ÉAXEL / BRAINSTORM- ÈAs Mantronix and Tip already stated in the scroller this is a very atmospherical song. Especially the beginning is very orchestral. The song is splitted up into four parts: Introduction/Orchestra, Half Disco, Piano Solo, Disco. The chord arrangements are very well done in each parts, not to talk about the even nicer melodies. No more words needed! ÉPETER/PMC- ÈThis piece consist of seperate parts, and I've decided to give seperated comments to them because they differ a lot from each other. The first part makes a gloomy, dark and depressive athmosphere. The instruments/sounds and the way they're used contributes to this together with the theme. I find the theme quite allright. A straight and clean composition. I haven't got anything to say about the second part, except that it's simple, boring and sounds very monotonous. Part three is a piano piece accompanied by the dark bass instrument in the first part. The theme is mainly build up on one motive played in different ways. It's a straight and 'normal' theme, and there's not much more to say about it. The dynamic use of the tempo is a good element, and makes the whole composition sound more interesting. The last part is a fresh and cheerful tune. However this is as the second one, a bit monotony. It consist of several motives, which are allright, allthough they're quite traditional. Here you'll find typical TIP/MTX solutions to melodical confrontations, which are often rather cheap. ÉJESTER/SANITY- ÈThis piece is automatically played when booting CS II and it already is the longest one regarding its running time (7:50 !). The composers have divided this tune into four rather different parts. As an introduction they create a very dense atmosphere by the use of extremely dark strings, timpanis and quite interesting chords. A piano sometimes appears in the background at a very low volume intensifying the feeling of being "lost". The same thing is also done with a string later on. To my mind this part is a bit too long and one quickly loses interest for there is no real melody to cling to and the samples are only of average quality. Still this introduction would be quite appropriate for a demo or perhaps a movie sequence. However, there is still more to come in this tune. The second passage is absolutely different from the first one and therefore this cross-over appears to be a kind of "forced variation". All atmosphere is suddenly wiped away by a fast Funk Disco background with a groovy bassline. Still there is no melody at all, the part just runs through with the accompany which makes the whole tune rather boring up to this point. The composers then continue with a piano passage that mainly consists of arpeggiated chords which I found quite original because of the professional succession of the harmonies. Still I believe that this part is not so very interesting for a non-musician. The piece is concluded by a happy and fast disco part which for the first time in this tune features a structured melody (!!!) with a brass-like sample. Unfortunately this melody isn't anything special for the exaggerated happiness in it. ÉRESUMEE: ÈA number of original chords and dense atmosphere but uninteresting because of the lack of melodies and the "forced" mix of styles. ÊTherefore 60%. ÿ
