±b3 BIG SURPRISES× ±b3 STRIKE THE SCENE× ±32By Dolphin/Stone Arts ±41If you thought 1993 was the year when virtually everything changed in the scene - you're up for quite a shock! The launch of the AGA chipset in 1993 didn't really effect the scene as much as it will in 1994. The scene is changing, there's no doubt about that! Facet got 32th place in the graphics competition at the Party III, while Peachy reached the 24th place! Complex won the demo competition and many of the members from Lemon. (including Dan, Facet, Danny and Lizard) has joined Spaceballs! Hannibal, Jade, Paradroid & Spaceman left the scene. Futuremind left for Razor 1911, Julius left for Kefrens and Pride left for Movement. Lemon. is in other words dissolved and dead! ±42Spaceballs are changing ±41With the death of Lemon., Spaceballs have gained some experienced and talented members, but lately they have also lost some members to another really interesting group; Virtual Dreams of Fairlight. My sources say that more members left for VD/FLT or were currently thinking of doing it, but I have only got one confirmed: Jogeir Lilljedahl left Spaceballs for Virtual Dreams. Spaceballs will suffer a change of name soon, some say. Hey! How about "LemonBalls" or perhaps "SpacePoint"??? ±43Are the swedes waking up again? ±41The scene activity in Sweden has been incredibly low with nearly no good groups ever since Phenomena stopped releasing productions a few years ago. Now, in 1994, this seems to change. Razor 1911 has been resurrected and has already proven to be a team to count on. They're producing a diskmag entitled "Propaganda" which has good potential and has reached issue 3. Perhaps the swedish scene, with Razor 1911 in lead, once again will put Sweden back on the map? Let's hope so! Would you have believed me if I would have predicted this only two-three months ago? No, of course not, because this comes as a real shock for nearly all of us! The coming AGA demos this year, are subject to change for the better compared to the standard we have been used to on A500. Graphicians are beginning to paint pictures in 256 colours and coders have just so much more processor-time for their new innovative ruotines. The only thing which hasn't changed is the sound! Perhaps this explains why Moby won the christmas party's music-competition this year too! Graphicians like Facet and Peachy seems to not have taken the change lightly. Unlike Cougar... ±43Where are Kefrens hiding? ±41A small surprise was that Kefrens didn't participate in the demo competition at The Party, they had said that ALL their coders were busy coding on projects for this party. It seems they didn't finish in time. A speculator (such as myself) might wonder if they will finnish it for The Gathering'94 in the easter instead!? After the chart-breaking hit "Desert Dream" most scene-related freaks are waiting for the new production from the "forces of the pyramides". Laxity's statement in the endscroll of "Desert Dream" where he says that he'll only do AGA demos on the future, makes this demo even more awaited. ±42- AGA has proven to be the future! ē
