gonna  annoy  the buggery out of us with another load of dross about any
old shit he can think up !!!

YUP !  YOU GUESSED IT !  Am I becoming a tad predictable here, mayhap ?

Not  quite  so predictable, though, as this is my chance to let off some
steam by having a go at the Canadian government of all things !

...aren`t  we  all,  do we not each, take a number of different roles in
our lives, son/daughter, father/mother, boyfriend/ girlfriend, friend or
enemy.   Do  we  not  each  pretend, at different times, to be different
people,  in  this  complex society that we live in, is it not inevitable
that we...

...SHUT  THE FUCK UP, OKAY !?!...  What I was about to say was that I am
a roleplayer, as it is a very enjoyable and challlenging pass-time which
involves, a number of different skills and abilities.

For  those  who have been in Alpha Centauri for the past ten years, what
it briefly involves is this;

Firstly,  one  of the participants is the referee or "Games Master" (and
no,  he  looks  nothing like Patrick Moore) and it is his job to come up
with  a  story or plot, somewhat like a script but not quite as detailed
or specific.

The other players, with the help of the Games Master, create a character
or  alternate  persona  that  will represent them in the imaginary world
created by the referee.

Then  it  is up to the Games Master (hereafter referred to as the GM) to
set  the  scene  and  to  tell the players where they are, what they are
doing,  who  is with them, etc.  and, from this, the players decide what
their characters do in that situation.

This activity is proven to improve the problem-solving and communication
skills of the players and the story-telling and organisational skills of
the  GM.   It  also requires a good deal of latent acting ability on the
part of all concerned !

|HOWEVER...


...at last !  he`s finally getting to the sodding point !...

...however, though this is an enjoyable and beneficial pass-time for all
concerned (and much less destructive than
 Joyriding   or   mugging)   the   Canadian  government,  in  its  less-
than-infinite wisdom has seen fit to ban it !

Yes, the Canadian goverment has BANNED ROLEPLAYING !

Now,  as  the definition of roleplaying is, strictly speaking, taking on
the role of someone other than oneself, this also encompasses;

   1)    Cops & Robbers, Cowboys & Indians, Doctors & Nurses
         in fact all of the kiddies` favourites !

   2)    Acting, no wonder their TV`s so CRAP !

   3)    Lying, yes LYING.  If I were to tell you I had
         shagged 200 women last week, I would be playing
         the role of someone who had shagged 200 women
         last week

No   wonder  that  the  Canadians  are  so  anally-retentive,  their  to
shit-scared to have fun or do ANYTHING in case they get ARRESTED !

This  all  came  about because a lad who was into roleplaying killed his
parents.   His  roleplaying  friends  egged him on by saying "We`ll give
your character 10,000 experience points if oyu kill your parents"

This  lad  would  have  killed his parents if you had told him that Mike
Myers from Wayne`s World said it was an "Excellent" idea !

   NB    Experience points are given to your character when
         roleplaying when he/she achieves something
         worthy of significant reward !

Ths  kind  of  petty-mindedness  and  pandering  to public opinion quite
frankly GETS ON MY (rather disappointing) TITS !!!!
