This game has its up and downs and I'll start with the downs. In one word the graphics. Although not that bad for being very similar to Mario Kart, the standard A1200 cannot handle 2 or more players with a decent screen mode still running fast. But if, like me, you have a bit of extra power in your Amiga a suitable compromise can be found on the numerous screen options, which includes an option for a higher CPU. Which for people like Converse of A.F, will run SHIT HOT FAST! 1 player games are excellent with 3 cups to race on. Lap records can be achieved and saved to the disks and better engines, tyres, brakes etc. can be purchased. The game itself is a racing game with nearly 3D graphics and loads of weapons like, missiles, homing missiles, banana skins, nitros, invincible nitros, mines, time bombs, granades and others. The one thing I must say is the computer-controlled cars seem to have good common sense when they are driving. Unlike Mario Kart, they constantly try to blow each other up as well as trying to get you, they also use nitros and the rest of them with a fair amount of sense. There are about 20 tracks in all with about 4-5 of them only available when you win all the races in the cup modes. With the game running blisteringly fast the action can get very addictive. Even now, 4 months later, I am still playing this to death. The controls are a dream come true for racing fans and with full support for the CD32 joypad they score top marks here. Upto 4 players can take part on the same machine via a four way adaptor, or a null modem link option is available so again they've scored well here in realising the importance of multiplayer games. Also it's hard drive installable. *4@7 JACKA'S RATING *3@5 Graphics : 75% - 97 % Depending on your setup. Gameplay : 96% It's great! Gamelife : 93% 4 months later and still going strong.
