This month (18/11/94) i wrote to  Europress  software,  the people 
who brought us the AMOS family  and  asked  them  a  few  questions 
about the future development of AMOS.  I  got  a  reply  from  there 
Customer Services Manager and see send this reply:

Dear WAC,

With reference to your letter, we are  sorry but Francois Lionet is no
longer able to continue developing  AMOS  due  to commitments on other
projects.

Due to this, we shall not be  releasing any further updates for AMOS -
Version 2.00 is the current version of AMOS Professional. Also, it has
been decided that we will not issue  a  version which will use the AGA
chipset of the A1200. We apologise for any inconvience this may cause
to AMOS users.

Now that we are not  proceeding  with  the  development of AMOS, we are
aware  that  some  users  are  showing  interest  in  continuing  it's
development independently. We  believe  that  an  AGA  update  is been
developed but unfortunately do not  have  any  details. We assume that
when any programs are completed  and  ready  for release, they will be
advertised in one of the Amiga magazines.

At Europress, we are concentrating on  developing software for the PC
but will continue to  offer  support  on  the  existing range of Amiga
programs. We have decided not to release a PC version of AMOS but have
released a new program called  Klik  &  Play  which will allow anyone,
even newcomers to programming to design and produce their own games on
the PC.

We would like to thank all AMOS users for your support but regret that
we fell the existing Amiga  market  will  not be sufficient to support
our involvement. However we do  hope  that  the more experienced users
will continue with development and keep  AMOS  alive for many years to
come.

So there you are. Europress are  officially saying goodbye to AMOS and
leaving us to fend for ourselves.  It's  a shame really that they have
made such a statement. The Amiga  market  is  far from over and i hope
that some day they will  regret  dumping  AMOS.  I think it was pretty
obvious that Europress were washing there  hands  of AMOS due to Amiga
Format giving  away  the  full  AMOS  Professional  program  on  there
Christmas cover disk.

I hope as Jean said,  the  rumoured  AGA support emerges quickly before
the users try to forget AMOS and  switch over the over languages such
as Blitz Basic which already  has  AGA  support.  So the statement for
1995 is will someone please support the proposed AGA extension and make
'95 a happy year for AMOS users.
