³¼INTERVIEW WITH¼³ ³¼SIOUX OF HURRICANE¼³ ² Yep, The mag gives you an interview with the main-organizer of the Hurricane party, Sioux, who will tell about their problems and why it went so bad. ³TFG¹: Well, the party is now over. How many people did actually show up ? ³Sioux¹: ²I guess about 900 people was visiting the party.¹ ³TFG¹: How did the party go in your opinion ? ³Sioux¹: ²He,he I guess you know what I'll answer. It didn't go at all. Well, it started allright. But slowly it began to be worse. And it ended in totally kaos. The reason for this, was mainly that some couldn't behave and that the organization wasn't good enough. And that some organizers didn't take a responsibility after all, didn't do what they were supposed to do.¹ ³TFG¹: Did you have any kind of trouble ? ³Sioux¹: ²We had nothing but trouble. First of all there was a problem about the entrance. We had 900 visitors, but we only got the entrance-fee from about 400 people !!! That was mainly our own fault because not all the entrances were guarded. I really don't blame the people just walking in. I guess I would have done the same thing. Secondly there was someone who made vandalism and someone who broke in somewhere in the school. That costs about 25000 d.kr. And the last thing that have given us a lot of trouble was some guys using a phone(modem??). They had cut up some phone-cables outside the school and connected their phone to it. Today the phone-company called me, and said that all in all that phone had been calling for 48! hours to foreign countries. That gives a bill on 70000 d.kr. What a nice surprise to get.¹ ³TFG¹: Was it harder to organize a party that you had expected ? ³Sioux¹: ²Well, not in the beginning. Everything went well before the party started. And we thought that we had made a good plan for the party. But as the party started, everything started to go wrong, for finally ending in totally kaos.¹ ³TFG¹: In your invitation, you kind of said this party would be better than the party in Aars. Try to compare these two parties with each other ? ³Sioux¹: ²Yeah, as you said, our intention was to make this party better than the party in Aars. But we failed. The organization at the Aars party was much better, more proffesional. I guess the only thing that was better than the Aars party was the separation of the Amiga's and C-64. And I think the C-64 had a rather great party. It was the biggest ever held for C-64's. And after all I think this was the second biggest party ever held. But it wasn't as good as the Aars-party for sure.¹ ³TFG¹: Was all the prizes given ? ³Sioux¹: ²No, they weren't. Only 7500 d.kr was given as prizes. Only the two best got some prizes. The C-64 got all their prizes, but the two parties didn't run on the same budget either. The problems about the prizes are really giving me the worst headache. Because we made the big mistake not telling the groups that the prizes were reduced, before after! the demo-competitions was finished. Otherwise ,some groups could had waited with the release of their production. So, I really understand that Kefrens got pissed. But I have promised them that they will get half of the first prize. Either the Amiga 3000 or 15000 d.kr. I'm really sorry for this !!¹ ³TFG¹: You also had some problems with the voting-system. What went wrong ? ³Sioux¹: ²Well, it wasn't really ready. And then some couldn't understand that they only should use the 9 numbers once. So we had to make some of the competitions two or three times. Another problem was that there was voting-sheets all over the place, so it was easy for a person to vote several times, and thereby cheat !¹ ³TFG¹: Will you ever arrange a new party after this ? ³Sioux¹: ²Not under this handle or under this group. But since Hurricane is dead, I will soon join a new group. And that group is planning a party somewhere in the future. But everything is TOP SECRET!. But I guess I will help a bit with that, giving advises of what not to do! etc. But I will never be main-organizer of a party again.¹ ³TFG¹: So I guess that you haven't got rich on this affair ? ³Sioux¹: ²NO!!, that's for sure. We have a minus on about 50.000 d.kr. And since I have signed all the contracts I think I have to pay about 80% of it. So I'm definately not rich. Besides all this I have, after the party ended, started to get some packages with alot of stuff. Today I got a package with computerstuff for 9000 d.kr from a company. Of course I just return them, but it's annoying anyway ( Stop that shit!, the man have enough troubles already! ed.) But there's nothing to do except for keeping up my good moode.¹ ³TFG¹: Ok, Sioux, that was all. Thanx for answering the questions. Good luck in your new group and in the future! And I guess this shows that there certainly are some big risks by making a party, and it also shows that the party in Aars really was fantastic organized. Made by TFG of Majic 12
