I  think most of you have already heard
about  it  :  1994 all countries of the
EC in Europe will get the same currency
(money)  :   the  ECU.  That's only one
thing  that  the ministers of all these
countries have planed.  There's another
thing  that  frightens  me  :  1999 all
frontiers will be destroyed, that means
that everybody of a EC-country can come
into  your  country,  can build a house
there  and  even  can  work there!  The
federation  is for me only an advantage
for  the  poorer  countries  in  the EC
like:   Portugal,  Spain or Greece.  In
these    countries    the   number   of
unemployed  people  is  rather high, on
the   other   hand  is  the  number  of
workless   people   in  countries  like
Germany,  Luxembourg,  Netherlands  and
Belgium  compared  with those countries
rather low.  You can easily imagine the
consequence:   All  the people from the
poorer countries come to live in one of
the richer countries because there they
can  easier  find  a job, and of course
earn  more money.  I must admit that if
I  were  in  the case of these people I
would do the same.

Only  a  little  example:   I live in
Luxembourg,   which   is  the  smallest
country  of  the  EC.   We've  got here
360.000  inhabitants with 38% strangers
(without those who come from France and
Belgium   everyday   to   work  in  our
country).   We are the country with the
most  strangers  in  Europe  and when I
think that 1999 the number of strangers
will  drop to 60% (or more!) it's going
to   frighten  me.   Already  now  it's
rather seldom to find here a shop where
the  seller  speaks  Luxembourgish.  In
most of the shops here you must be able
to  speak  French!   And  another thing
which  is even worse:  You must care of
a  job.   It  will  be  more  and  more
difficult  to  find  a job with the big
concurence   of   outside!    Ok,   the
federation  has  also  good sides:  For
example  most  of  the  wares  will  be
cheaper  etc.  I wrote this article for
all you guys in Europe, because most of
you  are  still  in  school and so, you
have  your future in front of you which
isn't  the  case  for all these fucking
politicians  who  all  have 50 and more
and  who  drive  their 5 Mercedeses and
who  have  villas in whole Europe!  I'm
not  a  Neo-Nazi or a Rassist, the only
thing  that  I want is that my country,
Luxembourg  and  his  language won't go
down  in  this  "big country" of Europe
...

²Well  I can understand your felling Al.
There are lotsa thruth in your article,
but there are other side of this thing.
Just  imagine.   You  will  go  to  the
States  for  2 years to work.  First it
is  sounds  great, but after some weeks
in  will  be  a bit worse.  You have to
leave   your   family,   friends.   And
foreigner  workers get less money lotsa
times, or lotsa times the foreigners do
such  a  work  what  the normal workers
don't undertake.
