@^ @t3@f01@c COOKING WITH KREST! @c By Krest/Anarchy. @t5@f00Hallo all you budding chefs! (?!) Have you ever come home from work or school and you need something quick to eat, and your mum has forgotten to leave you anything??!? Well, have no fear! Cos i'm here! With a new series (serum?!???) of articles dedicated to your cullinery (?) needs! Totally foolproof as Mystik has even qualified! (hehe...sorry!) So on we go! For this months @t4STAR RECIPE,@t5 we have one of my very own! Its called....tadadadada.... @t6'Scallops de Krest'! ---------------------- @t4Details:@t5 This is a variant on those @^ @t5 well known chip-like snacks 'Scallops' I dont know if they are called that in other countries, or even outside Lancashire?!?, but anyway, they are basically chopped potatos covered in a crispy batter coating! Well trendy.... @t6 What you need: @t5A couple of medium size spuds/Potatoes Some white plain flour... Some water (?!)... Some herbs n spices (preferable!)... Some salt... Ok, lets cut the crap and cook! @# @^ @t5Oh, By the way, i come from Lancashire, Bolton to be exact, and we may have different words for things than other parts of the uk, or foreigners who have learnt a crappy southern way of speaking... @t3 (Hi Mystik! hehe) @t5 Ok, what you do is preheat your 'chip-pan' and melt the vegetable oil... When its melted, lower the heat to very low so you wont set fire to your house! Now, peel some potatoes, and wash them etc... Slice the potatoes into about 1/2 inch thick scallops...hard eh? Now, the batter mix!, put some flour into a mixing bowl, and add a bit of water...sorry for no precise measurements but im not a fucking chef am i?!? Anyway, mix @^ @t5the flour and water until its quite thick but still stirrable! Keep adding more flour or water until you get it right. Once your satisfied with your masterpiece, add a few pinches of salt, and some of your herbs... Doesnt matter what kind, as long as you like em! Now, mix the herbs and salt into the flour and water....you now have good ol 'batter'. Now, go find your sliced potatoes, and cover them in dry flour so the batter sticks to them. Now, once youve done that, dip the potatoes into the batter mix and cover them with it....Now, all you have to do now is drop them into your 'chip pan' and turn the heat to full! Keep prodding the scallops when they're cooking to stop them from joining up! And when they're a nice@t8 golden brown color@t5 take @# @^ @t5them out!! Now, serve straight away, with some kind of sauce if you like! Cool eh?! Ok, thats the first recipe! Next time i will show you how to make...tadaaa.. 'Apple Turn-Overs de Krest'!!! If you have any nice recipes you`d like to share with us, drop me a line... Or alternatively write to @t2Blue Peter@t5 if you`d like your recipe to be on TV.. Ok, thats all! @t6 (@t3C@t6)@t4 1992 Crap Cooks Guild Ltd. @@
