4The scene in

41992

4The names

--------------------------------------

'92 was definitely the year of new
talents. First, let's take a look a
the groups of 1992:

The most important teams were 2Melon
Dezign, Andromeda, Anarchy, Spaceballs
and Kefrens1. 3 out of 5 are
newcomers, or at least famous for
their productions in '92.

3Melon Dezign:1 They invented a new
demonstration style, which the scene
loved. The style's main
2charasteristics 1 are humour, crazy
music and design, with cool new
effects. The team consists of 2 8
people,1 and they all were productive
(no swappers). They released 2
trackmos and lots of little well
designed intros.

3Andromeda:1 This is an pure norwegian
team with 218 members.1 1992 was their
premiere year, but they are undoubtly
in the leading bunch. They created a
very cool 2image1 for the group. In
lots of people's opinion their
productions have the 2best design1 (just
take Mirror). They released D.O.S.
on The Gathering which is their best
demo yet. They've done a file demo
called 3Mindriot1 already in '93.
3Anarchy:1 This legendary group is the
2only BIG group1 which could keep up
with the time. For example Silents
and Phenomena both were inactive all
year, but Anarchy released a lot of
quality productions, but nothing that
would take your breathe away. Anyway,
with their star members, they could
keep up and 2stay on the top.1 But they
have to share the top now with the new
teams...

3There have been many changes in (A)!
2Check the news and article about them!1

3Spaceballs:1 It started out as a
little funny norwegian team, but
nowadays they are on the right way to
the #1 position. 2Wayfarer and State
of the Art1 both won on a party demo
compo. Namely on The 3Gathering1 and on
3The Party'92,1 the 2 best parties in
'92! With SOTA, they created a very
2new type1 of demonstrations. Th code
is not a big deal, but it's the 2most
original1 demo of the year.

3Kefrens:1 The forces of the pyramids.
They were attacked by lodsa people on
the scene, but most of these attacks
were the 2proofs of jelauosy1. The
sequel of Guardian Dragon was the
2biggest hit 1of the summer.

And now let's see who were in the

4spotlight

         of the scene in '92.

3Coders:1 Altough 2The Spy1 was quite
inactive, he 3kept his #1 position1 all
year. But I think the 2coders of '921
were: Chaos/Sanity, Mr.Hyde &
Dr.Jekyll/Andromeda, Lone Starr of
Spaceballs, Performer/Melon Dezign.
This year the words behind the demos
were 2Design1 and 2Originality1 instead of
the boring World Record and these
coders 2(espec. Dr.J&Mr.H)1 showed us
what these words mean. Chaos is
accused of bad design, but if he could
manage to improve he would absolutely
2numero uno.1

3Graphicians:1 1992 was a 2year of gfx.1
Nowadays no demo can survive without
cool pictures, the same goes with
diskmags. And fortunately, the scene
has a lot of talented dudes like 2Facet1
of Anarchy, 2Peachy1/TRSI, 2Fairfax1 of
Andromeda, 2Hof1 of The Silents, 2RWO1 of
Kefrens, 2Danny1 of Anarchy or 2Mack1 of
Melon Dezign. My problem with their
pictures is their subject. Why can
only some dudes draw other things than
dragons, Vallejo pictures? Give a
little more 2fantasy1 to your pictures!

3Musicians:1 They are starting to
realize that the old 2computer sounds1
are out of time. Each famous musician
has a very own style, own samples, and
that is very cool. These people were
the musicians of '92: 2Audiomonster1 of
Melon Dezign, 2Nuke1 of Anarchy, 2SLL1 of
Kefrens, 2Jesper Kyd1 of The Silents,
2Moby1 of Dreamdealers.
