4Hungarian 4Demo Reviews Well, yeahhh! I have seen many 2demoreviews1 in different magazines and I can tell that this is basically a very good idea. If you made a demo you can read it and you can see other peoples opinion on your production. If you collect demos you can decide if you want to get something or not. Or simply you can read it and agree or disagree. But now we won't do the same! As most of the magazines review only the best demos (those ones, which already everybody have), lower quality demos 2have no chances1 to be known by the public. Sometimes there are productions being forgotten right after the first week they were released. In most of the cases the same happens to Hungarian productions. Not because they are lame (sure some of them are, or better say old-fashioned), but the groups have no good swappers, or no swappers at all! You can say: "because they are so lame", but its not true like this. Nowadays 2something happened in Hungary.1 A lot of newcomers joined our scene and released some good and also bad productions. But we are happy to see lame Hungarian demos too, because that means there are people, who want to do something. Isn't it just great? Hmm what? Ok, so let's have a look at the 2latest1 3Hungarian productions.1 Infact we'll review the four best ones, mostly released in the past months. So here we go... 4Disney's 4by Faculty: This is a 2new1 and very 2promising1 group. They have already released a musicdisk in 1992 (it will be reviewed later on) and at the beginning of this year they came up with a trackloading demo, which was a contribution to Absolute's party on the 3rd-4th january 1993. By the way this meeting, which it turned out to be was the third part of a party series called Bash. Their main idea was to produce something based on Walt Disney's figures (as the title shows) and different animation. So did they, probably because they have a graphician, who is very much into Disney's graphic. So we can see Donald Duck, Captain Quack and their mates (a bit childish, isn't it). However they have some major problems doing real graphics or logos and they are not very strong on the design side either. We can see some shade line vectors, a plotter routine multiplicated to five bitplanes, radioactive vectors (a kind of stencil, something like the white noise effect), 6*4 surfaces glenz (whaohh!!!), a fu..... slow logo drawing, some average circles and a rubbercube with its shadow in the background followed by a ray-tracing animation. Well, to tell the truth none of the parts show anything revolutionary or special. 2It's an average demo, but good for the first big release!1 Keep on working and improving guys! @IPshdiskC 4Jump Master 2 4by Faculty: So here comes the promised musicdisk, which is a special one indeed! You load it and ask: "wadda hell for?". Well, it contains a complete game besides the musics. It is a good idea as you can good spend your time while listenin to the music. It's a logical game and your job is to find out the way from one point of the board to the other using the knight's move (chess' horse-jump). It's quite tricky! The design and the graphics like in their trackmo, so still can be better! Hope- fully new and better musicdisks comes as they promised in their last prod. 4Strange 4Features 4by Creator: Must say this is the 2best demo1 from our country since last summer. Although Creator is a brand-new group they've made a very nice first impression. I feel a kind of 2Digital1 touch on the demo. Don't misunderstand me, it doesn't mean that they have stolen anything and they even did not reach the same standard, just something similar. I am not really fancy with the loading picture, which was drawn in quite a dim style, and not the music either reminding me an old Live Act demo (no offense pals). They show 225 individual dotballs,1 lots of jumping vectorcircles and different tricks with them, a fullscreen glenz, some impressive dotflags followed by a Kefrens styled big polygoncube. Then they come up with a ball including 2016 dots surrounding a red cube with a "C" sign at the middle. At last we can see a nice ray-tracing animation, of course some balls moving around a geometric object (what else?). All in all this production was a great surprise, the 2design and the code is definitely above the average.1 I miss some new ideas just like better drawn pictures and logos. Nice work anyway! 4Inside Anarchy 423 Celsius: 2The great disappointment of the year!1 23C who claims to be an elite group with original roots and four years behind their back come up with something like this. The demo is dedicated to Albert Einstein (poor genius!), and let's say there are some rutines worth mentioning just like the "23C YES" ray-traced animation, 60+1 surfaces glenz (sick isn't it?), a TV cube (I haven't seen any worse), a glenz spaceship flying in deep space and a realtime animated postcard. Say what? It's a two faced vectorpaper rotating around the three axis while showing different vectoranimations on both side. I don't think they have any problem with the design, because there is 3no design 1 in this demo. There were false roumors saying they have joined Anarchy, well if they could manage to do it anyway, sure it would be their first and last production (sorry guys! this demo isn't really a chart breaker). Sure these words are very rude and you guys in 23C can say, that your demo is maybe better than Faculty's or Creator's one (I don't think so), but infact you are on the scene for about 2four years1 now and couldn't really produce anything on the European standard exept Digi Movie, which was really great that time! However must admit that 3Nexus 61 has improved much on the graphics field as I have seen their game named S.U.B., which features really beauty drawings and a nice game all in all. 2So good luck with it and something better next time! 1 4Jean @IPbrabsC
