JEdThe Heroin - Chapter ONEçìÀ £À¡Î¤Æ  ÊThe Heroin ¤À ¢Ã ÉChapter 1 ¢É Äby Terrorite/Zite ¨  Á¢ÇIt was early in the morning, when Belerin woke up in the middle of her sweet dreams. In five days she would marry Ordan, the son of the blacksmith. She had been after him since she was six years old, and finally she got him last year at the big feast of spring. It was then that she discovered that he had been after her for years too, for she was the most beautiful girl in the whole village. But he never dared to ask her to go to the feast with him, so he was very glad she had asked him instead. Still half sleeping Belerin asked herself why she woke up, when suddenly she heared why she had done so. Horsefeet! And a lot of them too! But in this village nobody had a horse, except the leader of the clan and the blacksmith. This could only mean that the king's soldiers had finally found the village, which was settled deep in the forest, about eight years ago, for the king wanted to kill all of these people. Nobody knew why, but it was said that the king had had a dream in which someone from their particular clan would make an end to his reign of Tiranny. Quickly Belerin put on her tunic, and grabbed her sword, which lay hidden away under her bed. Nobody of her village knew she had a sword, for only the men were allowed to have them. Girls were said to be to fragile to fight, so they didn't get a sword or something like that. She had found that sword some years ago, at a lake near their village. When she found it, it was very dirty, but when she cleaned it, it seemed to be very new. It hadn't even a scratch on it. But she had the feeling that it was from very ancient times, because when she held it, a strange power overcame her, which made her feel she could do everything. No, she didn't have the feeling that it was an old sword, she just knew it! Since she had found it, she had been practicing with it, deep in the forest, far away from the village. She had even killed somebody with it, a man who had just killed one of the guards and was spying around the village. When that happened, she was just coming home from one of her weeks of thinking, as she called it. Actually, she had been away to practice with her sword, but nobody was to know that, of course. When they found the dead spy next to the dead guard next morning, everybody was amazed, and people started thinking that some strange spirit was there to defend them against evil. But now she had to find a way to escape from that same village, for it was no longer a safe place for her. When she opened her front door, she saw a lot of soldiers on horses, with torches, setting the houses on flames, and killing all people who were trying to escape. Still she had some time, as the soldiers had not yet reached her house. She ran around the corner of her house, and ran into the forest, where she hid behind some bushes, and looked with horror at what was happening in the village. People yelling and screaming, running out of their houses, straight into the arms of the soldiers, who slaughtered all of them. Belerin turned pale when she recognized Ordan, the man she was to marry. Like a madman he ran at the soldiers, brandishing with his sword (he had one). With great difficulty, he managed to kill one of the soldiers, only to find himself the next moment falling to the ground with a spear in his chest. Belerin then turned around and ran deeper into the forest, crying, but still not believing the things she saw. On and on she ran, untill she fell down, totally exhausted, and falling in a deep sleep. When she woke up, Belerin found herself in a part of the forest she didn't know. It was late in the afternoon, and her stomach let her know that it was about time for a good meal. She saw some rabbits walking on a small patch of grass, but when she tried to catch one, they all ran away. She then decided to search for some other food. After a few minutes she found some berries, which she ate. They tasted sour, but at least it was food, and they made her feel a little better. But she knew she could not live long from berries, as autumn was to come soon. On the other side, her tactics weren't good enough to catch those rabbits, so she had to find something. Then the idea came to her that she could really use a bow, so she cut off a strong branch from a tree with her sword, and started working on one. For a week she was busy making a bow, while living from those berries, which tasted worse every day. Then finally she finished her bow. While working on it, she had often asked herself where the hell she should get the string from, but one day she found the answer while she was stuck in some branches with her hair. Her hair; that was the answer! So when she finished the bow, she cut off a piece of her long blonde hair, and plaited it into a long string, which she knotted onto the edges of the bow. Then she pulled on the string to see if it was tight enough, and bented the bow so that she could make the string tighter. Then she searched for some long, straight branches, and started making arrows out of them. From a few reeds she then weaved a quiver to put her arrows in, and also made a scabberd for her sword, and a belt. The bow she carried over her shoulder, like she had seen men do that when she was a little girl. With that she went off, heading west, hoping she would find a new place to live, where she could start a whole new life. ¡Î¤Áend of chapter one. JEeThe Dorg - Chapter 4y Sanity/Complex/SupplexT§ìÀ £À  Æ The Dorg ¢À Chapter 4 ¢À  É imagined by Friendly/Damian  Ä¢Ç- Various inspirations, creatures and scenes are taken from other fantasy-stories and were converted into dorg-characters...  ÁWhat happened so far: The little dorg Smucky travels to the land of the dwarfs, because they are in need of help. He eats a magic fruit and becomes a strong fighter. In a hut he meets Larissa, the bad witch. She allures him into a tunnel and he gets out far away in another land. There Teflon, a woodman, brings him to the Tree, the father of all trees, bigger than mountains and with large cities on his branches... What creatures do we know: Smucky, the dorg - A very normal little dorg, living in an oak Taliesin - The mysterious wizard who sent Smucky on this journey Giant Gorm - A dreadful monster, bringing death Larissa - Bad witch with dreadful plans Teflon - A treesian (woodman) living on the Tree  Å£À Chapter 4:  Ä - An Old Man -  Á¢ÇSmucky told his story and Teflon and his wife listened to him without saying anything. When he told them about the mysterious tunnel, Teflon shot a glance to his wife Tabria, but then continued looking at Smucky. It was already getting darker when the dorg stopped talking. Some seconds Teflon did nothing, then he just said: ^I think we can help you.^ He stood up, looked at Tabria and the two entered another room. Before they were leaving Teflon turned around. ^You have to excuse us, we have to speak about some things... It's not easy for us... ^ Smucky wondered what serious things they could have to speak about. And how could they help him? Perhaps they knew who that beautiful girl was. Out of the room came noises, as if Teflon and Tabria would have a dispute and he began to wish he was somewhere else. The two got quite and after a while the door opened and Teflon came back to Smucky. ^I am really sorry, but we had to make a really serious descision. We treesians are a bit scary in magical things. But you are a stranger in need of help and I can't refuse it. Tomorrow you and me, we will visit the old Obajan, who lives in the trunk of the Tree.^ Smucky did not understand. ^Oberon? Who's that? What can he do for me?^ ^Tomorrow! It's too late to give long explanations. My wife will show you your bed.^ And so Smucky finally slept in a comfortable tree-bed... Next morning they got up early and walked the way back to the lianes. Though he had done it once, again he was fascinated by the wonder of this people. Back at the trunk of the Tree, Teflon followed a small path through the giant roots. Smucky was overwhelmed as he saw the unbelievable complex structure of the roots. Strange flowers glittered in thousand varieties of colours and many different aromas filled the air. After half an hour of walking, Teflon stopped at a small entrance into the trunk. He picked up a flower with a big yellow blossom and entered the tunnel. In the dark the flower began to shine brightly and after some minutes of walking Smucky discovered a little door. ^Obajan is the oldest treesian and he knows a lot of things which happen outside in the world.^ ^Why does he not live on the Tree?^ Smucky asked. ^It is said that Obajan discovered the secret of the Tree. One day he began to built this tunnel and told us that he would search for the real wisdom and the heart of the tree. The treesians began to be afraid of him and nobody had contact with him for a long time now. That's the reason why my wife was against my descision.^ Teflon knocked at the door. Some moments nothing happened, then an old and brittle voice told them to come in. They entered a small but comfortable room. Everywhere grew the yellow flowers. A stoneold woodman sat on a chair writing in a book. ^I was already waiting for you, Smucky and Teflon! I see that you are in real trouble, Smucky, but don't be afraid, we have something here which should help you.^ Obajan stood up leaned on a short stick and slowly walked to another door on the other side of the room. Surprised, Teflon and Smucky followed him, wondering what would await them. ^We are now going to the oldest living thing on this world. The heart of the Tree!^ Again they walked into a small tunnel and just when Smucky began to think that their way would never end, they reached a large hall, illuminated by thousands and thousands of yellow flowers. But Smucky did not recognize them he only had eyes for the all over shining lightball in the centre of the hall - The heart of the Tree! Obajan walked straight into the direction of the shining light, Smucky and Teflon followed him fascinated. ^I can't believe it! It is reality! The heart of the Tree. The oldest living thing. The father and guardian of the woodfolk. Obajan has discovered it!^ Obajan reached the middle of the hall and turned around, with pride in his eyes. ^All your wisest men did not believe me. They said I would be a strange old man and that I would die soon. But I always knew that it exists!^ Smucky said nothing. He just stared at the mighty glowing and pulsing light. ^This is your gate to the dwarfs. Go through it and you will be transfered directly to Thrir, king of the dwarfs.^ The light began to change his shape and soon Smucky stood in front of a shining gateway. ^Teflon will go with you. It is his fate to wander at your side. But be aware of Larissa! Once she almost managed it to destroy your plans, she will try it again.^ He turned to Teflon and hold a little silver-golden flower in his hand. ^Take this flower. It will help you to find your way back to us after you finished your quest. Always remember the power of wood!^ After these words he went back to the tunnel without looking back. First Smucky and Teflon hesitated, but then they grapped their hands and walked trough the gate... FEW! SMUCKY MANAGED IT TO GET BACK TO HIS QUEST, BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN? WHAT MONSTERS AND MYSTERIES WILL AWAIT THE DUO? IS IT TOO LATE TO HELP THE DWARFS? CAN AMIGAS EAT FISH? READ IT OR DIE - IN  ÊTHE JUNGLE Á ISSUE 5!!! ¡Î¤Áend. JE¯Our Visit At Commodore6§ìÀ £À¡Ì¤Ç  ÉOUR VISIT AT COMMODORE ¤À ¢É Äby Ace of Damian ¨ ¢Ç ÁIn the summertime Friendly and me drove through Germany with a special train ticket and so, one day we went to Commodore. I met a guy from Commodore on the CeBit and he told me that C= wants to have a better contact to the scene, because they realized that the scene-guys are their best customers. So I called this guy and on the 20th of July we went there to talk a bit about these things. We were taken to the room for the technical support, where all Amigas are standing. This part of Commodore is to support the Commodore-dealers and the developers. There they test the compatibility of the Amigas for example. During the talk we got so many informations, that it would take one issue of  ÊTHE JUNGLE Á to write about it. So I took out the most interesting things. ¢É ÊHere are some facts:¢Ç  Á Å- ÁThey got their own  Çmailbox called COMBO Á. You can reach it by calling ++49/ (0)69/6638191. The voiceport for this BBS is ++49/(0)69/6638167. The system runs on Phobos, which functions are almost the same as on Fastcall. They got 4 Dual Standards 16800 and a Gigabyte-HD. You can also call this Box by using ISDN. Use the numbers ++49/(0)69/6669938-0 or -1. In the system you can find PD-stuff, like all disx of the Fish-series. There are also things by Commodore on the HD, like Workbenches and other system-disx. Nice, if you formatted or destroyed yours like I did! There you can also find the latest informations about C=. As a guest you can only use a little bit of the system, when you want to become a user of this BBS, you got to fill a sheet, and a few weeks(?) later you get Level 1. With this level you can use almost everything in the system. You can also pay 100 DM a year to get access to every conference.  Å- ÁIf you got  Éproblems Á with your Amiga and need some parts or special coding- books released by Commodore, you should try this address: Hirsch und Wolf, Mittelstr.33, 56564 Neuwied, Germany. Fon:++49/(0)2631/24483. Fax:++49/(0)2631/ 23878.  Å- ÁIf you want to build something nice for your Amiga, you can get all sorts of  Ätechnical plans and books Á at this adress: Schaltungsdienst Lange, Moehringer Allee 30, 1000 Berlin 47, Germany. Fon:++49/(0)30/703 6060. You should call them and ask for the new city zip, because since the first of July they changed.  Å- ÁIf you want to  Êmake money with your work Á, you can contact Commodore, and they will help, that no firm rips you off your work. At the moment they are searching for somebody who can make a nice demonstration-CD for the new CD 32-system. (Hey Spaceballs, how about a CD-Version from "State Of The Atari"... ooops, "State Of The Art" of course. If you want some more Information about this you should write to Commodore, Mr.Wilfried Haering, Lyoner Str. 38, 60528 Frankfurt/Main, Germany.  Å- ÁYou can join the  Çtechnical support-team Á. You`ll have to pay, I think, 150 DM a year (sorry, I don`t remember exactly!), and then you get a special newspaper (very thick!) every 2 months, in which the latest coding-technics are written. I think this is very interesting for coders who want to be very good, and make money with their work.  Å- ÁIf you got problems with  ÄJ.D.Mallander Á, or any other PD-Company selling your work, when you wrote a Copyright-notice in your release, here`s the addy of a very good team of lawyers, who work for computer-things: Graefer & Partner, Lucile-Grahn-Str.38, 81675 Munich, Germany. They of course don`t work for free, but they should be very good. Let`s trust Commodore.  Å- ÁIf you want to use directories, libraries or any other programs from the Workbench or any other system-disk in your Commercial programs, yopu`ll have to pay about 30 or 40 DM a year, because of the  Älicenses and Copyrights Á. For this you can contact Commodore in America at: CATS - Licenses, Commodore Business Machines, 1200 Wilson Drive, West Chester, PA 19380, U.S.A.  Å- Á ÅWe get the latest press-Information from Commodore, everytime something new will be released. That`s not bad, because we get it the same time, the german newspapers get it!!! So only our news are the most reliable ones! Á So, you`ll hear it in  ÊTHE JUNGLE Á when something interesting`s coming up. £Á ÊRemeber: THE JUNGLE Your step into future... ¢Ç ÁOk, that`s the information we got. To everyone of the points I got more infos, but that wouldn`t be too interesting for you. A big THANK YOU! must go to MR. Haering of Commodore Germany for spending the time on us, when we were at C=. ¤Á¡Îend. As we are in good contact to Commodore we are in the position to give you the latest news, informations about projects and hardware and other interesting stuff. This time we have got some technical info about the Amiga-Console  Ä'CD 32' Á and interesting addresses. How the story began you can read in Ì 'Our visit at Commodore' Á. Unluckily we are not allowed to write about all the secrets we get. The thing looks like this: What you read is what you get! I think all of you are rid off these wanna-be news saying that the new Amiga Portable will contain an Intel P6 with RiSK RaM and 50 Mhz Harddisk and CD-RAM. Have fun!
