‡ Is the SCENE getting down ? -------------------------------- by Lithium/THE SILENTS Haven't you noticed it yet dudes?? The scene is slowly dying these days!! Why? I'll explain. Most of the game developing teams saw their profit go to pieces because of the crackers on Amiga so they left to some consoles, the releases went down on Amiga and are still decreasing until today. Most game directed people bought a console and since they became crackable too the Console scene (far different from the thing I know in the word scene!) is growing fast. This seems to be the ultimate crackerscene as most 9-12 year old assholes don't have a copier and so they are forced to buy the originals.. Until some jerks sell them a copier so one day or another it will be as rotten as Amiga for sure but anyway. Since the crack-side of the Amiga went down motivation got lost for many demo groups. No one could get soo famous anymore and the famous dudes are demotivated by the leavers so silence all over. Also it seems that every artist, composer or coder or whatever he calls himself wants to join a mega group like TSL or ANARCHY or.... No offence dudes but is that really your aim?? To be in a big team and to be a small piece of nothing. Other groups have become so inactive that most dudes don't know eachother anymore. Organisation has gone down to an horrible standard. Parties are becomming rare these days. To make a good party you have to live in Denmark and you have to rent the biggest sportshall available and put up a videoscreen of 2 square kilometers, huge amplifiers, 20 striptease girls (including live lesbian lovers on stage..). A democompetition with 2 zillions for the winner and ofcourse millions of other competitions which cost a fortune. A full-time restaurant... A swimming pool a golf course... And the price is soooo high and the party so far away that half of the nating people can't visit... PISSED PEOPLE. The ones who go there don't know anyone cause the are only interested for the faboulous price. The'll be bored after 2 hours.. MORE PISSED PEOPLE. The visitors will start to behave interesting and rape the walls with paint and stickers... PISSED ORGANISERS. Boy, what a world I can understand it when people are leaving! Some assholes even push their luck by claiming to the authorities that party X is illegal so that it has to be canceled. AAAH Is fame that important for you??? Or the other dudes telling about free calling on TV! Wow, my 5 year old brother could tell this if I explained him what to say BIG GUY! Thanx for blowing everything. It is very easy to be powerful in the scene, you just have to blackmail some original supplier or cracker and you get what you want but is this what you REALLY want? One good suggestion here. Next time Dallas is on TV (or any other mega crap of this kind!) Try to notice that they are well paid actors and that it isn't real! So don't behave like a J.R. in the scene. Also I can tell ya that the rush for new ideas and effects is about to end on a normal A500 because the limits of the 68000 have been reached now. Only falling prices of a 680X0 can get the demoscene up again. But it is also expectable that a computer like the SNES takes over because it is perfect for these things. And since you are able to code on an Amiga and run on a SNES it is possible to make demos there. Also there is a paint proggy and a music proggy allready. Future looks bright for that machine. But I still prefer the good old Amiga because all my friends are there and I love it because of what it was for other people who put something from themselves into this beige box and got a bit of fame in return. Could they ever expect that evil powers would kill the fun in their rush for success??? Hope the future isn't as grey as I see it.. And you can change it by getting active again and show the legends that also in 1993 there are still friends left in the scene. …
