Extended selections are not supported. WHAT IT DOES: The screen is a 1000 x 1000 8 color autoscrolling screen. The "window" into the screen is hires interlace 640 x 400. The long vertical window on the left is the toolbar. THE TOOLBAR: The gadgets, from top to bottom. Uses asl requester. Save Screen Take a guess. Clear Screen Clears screen to current color- has an AreYouSure requester Quit Exits program- has an AreYouSure requester Block Erase Try it out...uses current color. Draw Freehand Self-explanatory...uses current color Draw Lines Ditto. Grab Grabs a brush to use. Max brush size is 640 x 400. After brush is chosen automagically changes to brush mode. Text Allows user to place text on screen. Click mouse where you with text to begin. NOTE: Cursor keys are not supported in a standard way. If you want to add a lot of text import the brush into a word processor. The cursor up and down keys move the text box up and down halfway to allow you to add the 4 in back of CCl and up to add the 2 to x. Try it. F2 Brings periodic table to front. Click on a symbol and you will be able to stamp that symbol in the work area. Try it. F3 Brings object screen to front. Click on an object and you will be able to draw that object on the screen in the current color. You can also rotate the object thru 360 degrees by using the cursor left and right keys. You can scale the object using the cursor up and down keys. You can also rotate the object in 30 degree increments by clicking the right mouse button. WHY I WROTE IT. I wrote this while taking lower divison organic chemistry. I had to turn in many assignments where I had to show a synthesis of one compound from another. Many times these reactions are very long multi-step processes. This program came from my poor ability (and my impatience with) drawing the various steps. And my desire to find a way to fund my *EXPENSIVE* education. HOW I USE IT: This program allows one to draw the reactants involved in a process, grab one or more of them as a brush and stamp them down as the products. By then modifing the product to show the reaction result one has saved the time of redrawing much of the molecule. For example, to show the reaction Benzene + Bromine ----> Bromobenzene one would stamp hexane down, make it benzene by adding bonds in the center, in text add + Br and the reaction arrow, grab benzene as a brush, stamp 2 it down and add the ---Br with a bond and the Br. Much quicker than drawing each step each time and it really saves time on multi-step reactions. NOTE: This isn't how *I* would do the above. I have a screen I load each time I use the program that has pre-made compounds on the far right side of the screen. I just grab them as brushes as I need them. YOU can create your own custom screen by saving a blank CCS screen and adding stuff like reaction bars, arrows and such in DPaint or another compatible program. MY THEORIES ON PROGRAMMING or why I didn't add that "feature." You can't save individual brushes with this...that's on purpose. I don't need to. When I've got something I want printed or saved that isn't the whole screen I grab it as a brush with a PD grabber or snapper and save it as such. They fill a need for MANY programs and I don't see the need to duplicate their work. I believe that programs should do as LITTLE as possible to leave the user the ability to customize his/her enviornment as MUCH as possible. I hate commodities that do every little thing because invariably half the stuff they do I want done differently and have something else that will do it my way. I have to put up with one memory hog of a program that does 1 thing I like but has "features" for 10 things I don't like. So I don't put up with it. I don't use it. I write it myself. There are things I think this program could use that I am too lazy to write because I don't often have a use for them. If YOU the PAYING user thinks of something you want, let me know. If I can do it I'll let you know and you can thank me by supporting my efforts. I WILL NOT ACCEPT MONEY FOR A FEATURE I WILL NOT PROGRAM. It bugs me when I hear of people sending shareware fees in along with suggestions and recieving NOTHING back. Very annoying. Things I've thought would be neat: 1. Rotatable brushes. 2. Better text handling. 3. Another pop-up window (say with F4 key) that has common symbols ( + - arrows etc) you can use as a brush. 4. A window for the user to save brushes on. 5. A routine that doesn't XOR brushes into the screen. The problem is that when both brush and screen have a bit set the color gets changed. If anyone knows of a minterm for ClipBlit() that puts brushes in like DPaint does LET ME KNOW PLEASE. CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE: Programmed 100% in assembler using C.A.P.E. 68K, the same assembler I've used since 1987? and the best damn program I ever bought for the Amiga! Graphics created using DPaint...still the best for my uses. Graphics into code and gadgets layed out with PW2.0. TESTED ON: My system : A500 with OS 2.04 and 1M chip ram. Trumpcard HD controller. Total of 2M of memory - 1M SupraRam 500RX. ACS's 3000: Stock 68030 with a beautiful Mitsubisi DiamondScan monitor that I would give up sex for a year to have. ACS's 1200: Stock.
