 2   INTRODUCTION
 ================

TheCrypt is a small, simple and comfortable file encoder/decoder. It gives
you the opportunity to quickly en- or decode your files to protect them from
curious eyes. TheCrypt requires the same password to code/decode and (if you
really want to) you can code a file multiple times with different passwords,
the decoding has to be done in reverse order (the last encoding password
becomes the first decoding password).

 3   INSTALLATION
 ================

TheCrypt will run on any Amiga system with any KickStart and isn't
limited to be just a WB1.3 or WB2.0 tool.

TheCrypt requires the reqtools.library Copyright (c) Nico François to be
present in your libs: directory. If your Amiga has Kickstart 2.0 or higher
in ROM, please copy the reqtools.library in the libs20 drawer to your libs:
directory. If your Amiga has KickStart 1.3 or lower, copy the
reqtools.library in the libs13 drawer to your libs: directory. In fact, you
can copy TheCrypt in any directory you like, but I recommend to copy the
program into c: for the best operation.

 4   THE ARGUMENTS
 =================

You can get TheCrypt's command template by typing from CLI:

TheCrypt ?

The following text is displayed on screen:

Usage: TheCrypt [<source>] [destination]

Watch the syntax! Everything between <> MUST exist and everything between []
is optional. [<source>] is the file stored on (hard)disk to be (de)crypted
and [destination] is the new created (de)crypted output file. If you only
specify [<source>] and NOT [destination], [<source>] will be overwritten
with the new (de)crypted file. If you specify both [<source>] and
[destination], [<source>] will be (de)coded to [destination] (and [<source>]
remains intact). If you don't type any arguments, TheCrypt comes up with a
filerequester which allows you to select a file. Here, you can press the
Amiga (A) key and the character which is underlined or select the gadgets
to use Get, info, Volumes, etc. Alternatively you can also use the arrow
keys to select your file. The file you have selected using the filerequester
will be written to the same directory, with the extention (or suffix) .cr
(the file you have selected remains intact and can be deleted with the
delete command located on your Workbench disk or with your favourite
directory utility). As soon as you have typed the correct number of
arguments, TheCrypt comes up with a stringrequester and is waiting for you
to enter a password. Here, you can type any word or sentence (case
sensitive). After pressing return or OK the file will be (de)crypted and (if
no errors were detected) displays a File [de]crypted.

[<source>]

This argument let you specify the source (input) file to be (de)crypted.
If you only specify [<source>], the (de)coded file overwrites [<source>].

WARNING:

YOU CANNOT GET BACK YOUR ORIGINAL [<source>] FILE WHEN USING THIS OPTION.

Example:

TheCrypt s:Codedfile

[destination]

This argument let you specify the [destination] (output) file to be
(de)crypted. If you want to specify [destination], you MUST also specify
[<source>]. The input file remains intact.

Example:

TheCrypt > NIL: dh0:Tools/Forbidden.doc ram:Forbid.doc.cr
